I didn't realize these chicks are suing for gender discrimination.

It's the times. Like the woman hockey players who went on strike. Their demands $68,000 annual salary and child care, maternity leave and other benefits. I thought they played for their country.

Apparently this year has been record for women's world cup viewership. FIFA reportedly estimated total views at just over 1 billion (first time breaking the mark).

In contrast, the men's world cup final game had over 1 billion viewers.


So 1 game received more views from the men's world cup than the entire women's tournament. Not to mention that the rights fees for the men's are considerably higher.

The good news? Given how well the women's world cup drew audiences, there is potential for massive increase for TV rights of the new world cup.

Note that category 4 appear to be some sort of cheap tickets for Russians.

So the cheap ticket prices of category 4 of men's are more expensive than the top class tickets for women's final.

I should also point out that:

Category 1 for 2018 Men's is generally the largest category in some stadiums by a wide margin.
Category 4 is the smallest for every stadium. Limited to Russian residents for financial reasons.

It appears the pay from the US federation between men and women was determined by a "Collective Bargaining Agreement". Hmmm unions eh? collective bargaining eh?

... sounds like communism to me.
