Washburn returning.....

Tackle. Doesn't matter who the WR is if the QB can't throw the ball, doesn't matter who the QB is if the line can't block. Passing game starts up front, Give a QB enough time he will look good, give a WR enough time he will get open.

I'm with you schles tough call. Still I give the edge to Watkins.

i still think as good as the oline looked on paper...the fact we led the league in how fast we got the ball out masked a lot of their deficiencies. Which in turn caused a lot of staffords issues. You cant tell me Stafford is better than peyton manning at making reads and getting the ball out. WHat he was doing is locking on and getting rid of it ...too fast most of the time. Granted he would lock on because we only had 1 guy worth a shit running routes. So if im a new head coach building the team id have no issue getting a greg robinson to play tackle at 10 which would allow Stafford more time to make the proper decision.

I agree though....if Watkins is still there we HAVE to fill that #2 WR void at some point and the value/need would be too hard to pass up.

And that being said lol....I would also have no problem if we filled 2 other needs in the first 2 rounds and waited until round 3 for a #2 WR which I think there still will be plenty on the board. Ill stick by my mock for now:

Justin Gilbert CB
Antonio Richardson OT
BRandon Coleman WR

Richardson/Waddle would be a great camp battle and give us great depth a long the oline.

Still in the bottom third in YPC on a primarily passing team, that still has me less than 100% confident in the o-line. I don't know how much of a change in offensive scheme will improve that, how has Linehan's offense historically performed in that department?

I wouldn't be surprised if they went RB. Not in the 1st round but no later than 3rd, possibly 2nd? Reggie can't hold onto the ball, it's no guarantee that Joique re-signs and Theo Reddick ..lol.

Before anybody goes spaz on me, I'm not saying RB is a high priority but it's something to definitely keep an eye on. Agreed?

Has the Leshoure train left the station?

Oh shit, I forgot about that guy lol

Technically he should fill in for Bell if we ever lose him. Won't happen this year anyways when we slap a 2nd round tender on him. The way we identified UDFAs last year I'd say bring in some RBs that way. Worked for the Saints and Khiry Robinson.

you watched the games man...once calvin got injured I could have called the games from the sidelines. Z slant X stand there Y 6 yard curl....reggie....fake like your blocking then leak out tot he right. The only person who ran a route over 10 yards was durham lol....who blows and only caught like 40% of his targets.

Doesn't matter what rd you take a RB in anymore....if you have a stud run blocking oline you can grab the 3rd string rb from utep for all I care.

I thought that the offensive line played good. I also thought that the running backs were solid. I watch all of the slow motion game highlights that sandman puts up on youtube. I wouldn't have thought that tackle or running back would be anything more than a depth pick.

For perspective though, slow motion highlights do not show the plays that they choked. I am also so accustomed to total garbage that I could be mistaking average for good.

The Oline was good, but could we upgrade at the tackle spot? Yep. Would drafting Matthews create a positive impact next season you bet. Probably 10 seasons after that too.

They are being pressured to win now. 10 years from now is irrelevant to those pulling the strings. Offensive tackle seems like an unlikely first pick at this point. Forget need and even BPA at this point and start thinking most immediate impact. Mathew wants to keep his job.

what about getting more "impact" from your 90 mil qb? If a guy like greg robinson means Stafford doesn't go out and piss an entire half of a season away anymore....than id say greg robinson was extremely "impactful."

What pressure? 56 years. There's no pressure, you go into the season knowing most likely we'll suck yet hope for the best.

Stafford was 6th in the NFL in yards per completion......which is really good for someone who gets rid of the ball so fast.

He was 11th in YPA.

Not great, but certainly not bad. Not sure where you're getting your stats.

Rushing yards per carry

I agree that Robinson would most likely upgrade our O-line, but like you said in an earlier post, we currently only have one WR who's not crap. If I had to pick between Robinson and Watkins, I'd take Watkins. If it was between Robinson and Gilbert, that'd be a more difficult decision for me. I'd probably take Robinson.

There's obviously no pressure for us, but there is for Mayhew if he wants to keep his job.
