WH justification for the extrajudicial killing of American citizens

the argument that a world without religion would be a world without war is false, and absurd.

but negating this argument still does not mean religion is good in any way. there are plenty of other arguments against it that are not so easily refuted.

getting back to the original topic... the absurdity in this case is ridiculous. what could Awlaki have done after they put him on the kill list? could he try to surrender? what if he wanted to clear his name?

why couldn't they indict him if he was so bad? they had plenty of time to do so... why couldn't they follow criminal procedure, no matter how basic?

the horrifying thing is... these are not novel concepts. they've been the cornerstone of English and American law for hundreds of years. The tsmiths and slicks of the world may not understand why we have to do it according to a rule book, but there were very good reasons for doing so.

we've tossed everything we stand for away. this is insane and horrifying

Yes.

Also accurate. That war can exist without religion says nothing about religion.

there are plenty of other arguments against it that are not so easily refuted.
Also, true. They won't get you all the way to claiming that religion is no good in any way, but there are undeniable criticisms.

Look at all that agreement between MC and me on the matter of religion. It's like we both have All State insurance or something.
