What ever happened to Cam Gordon?

Pre-season he was supposed to be a starter and then he got injured and literally, until I just thought of him now, I haven't heard or seen anything about him. Anyone know what's up with him? I wonder if he's going for a medical redshirt or if that's even possible for him?

He already red-shirted his first year. I don't think it should come as too much of a surprise that guys who have played linebacker their whole lives are playing over him. He's a project at this point.

On a related note, what ever happened to Marvin Robinson? I'm seriously starting to question the coaching staff, why in the world would they be playing a walk-on and 3* at safety over this talented kid?

He made a play on ST against ohio*

Delonte Hollowell has made a handful of plays on ST as well. At first I was a little upset that they were burning his red-shirt, but he's been valuable out there.

This is what happened to him:

There was no doubt he was going to get serious playing time until he got "injured" which later turned out to be "arrested" not "injured" lol.

This happened after the team already played 4 games. He only started one of them.

Cam Gordon obtained a back injury a week before Western and didn't see action for 5 weeks. When he returned he was playing limited special teams. I think its safe to say he's had lingering issues all year. The kids got game and was the only bright spot on Defense in RR's last year. We haven't seen the last of him.

Yeah, Cam Gordon was a monster last year..I loved how he got burned in the open field and consistently didn't wrap pinballing off of ball carriers as they gained an extra 10-50 yards after contact. Can't wait for him to be back...we should put him back at safety since it worked so well.

He's not a safety. Gerg was an idiot thinking he could play there. And as far as tackling goes, I don't think you know what the **** you're talking about because he was our best tackler and biggest hitter besides Kovacs.

and will probably improve just like every other defensive player on the team has with better coaching.

Well I must have just been watching at all the right times to seem him go and light someone up only to hit them and fall down. Coincidence I guess.

My hope was that moving him to linebacker would eliminate space and make him more instinctual, making him a more sure tackler.

He DID do that several times and they do stand out, but he did make some tackles, too.

Beez is always harsh on him, but on the other end of the spectrum I think calling him the best or second best tackler on last year's team is kind of crazy.

Mouton whiffed just as many tackles as Cam. Clearly Gerg just didn't know what the hell he was doing and didn't teach form tackling. To think he can't improve as much as everyone else has is asinine. He IS the hardest hitter and he IS the fastest linebacker Michigan has.

But shit...They should give up on him after a year with Gerg and a year of injuries... Makes sense....

Maybe he'll make an impact in the bowl game. Hopefully, Herron can, too. Dude had the game of his life against Western and then didn't do anything the rest of his senior year.
