So between the oddities of the Home Schedule as well as some other things going on in life, it's been a challenge to come up with a game or two to fly back for, so I wanted to poll the group ...which game should it be?

State just falls on such a potentially crummy weather weekend this year and I've seen my share of sparty games (good and bad)

Army is intriguing .....as is the Hawaii game

My vote would be "none," but that wasn't up there

I voted for Army. I bet that is a cool game to see in person.

I went to the Air Force game a couple years back, and other than another bomber in the fly by (which we missed b/c we were drinking... we have our priorities in order), it was the same as beating any other patsy in the Hoke years.

Denard had one big TD run to give us a decent cushion, but the rest of the game was mostly a slogfest.

Iowa is intriguing ....haven't seen a game vs Hawkeyes in a long time. And being Homecoming ...and the fact that my wife's annoying friend will be here in Denver and she has plans with her .....am I talking to myself and convincing myself as I write this...? Yes, I think I am.

I'm guessing he wants to see a win.

I have been to A2 for the OSU game each of the following years:

2011
2013
2015
2017

making me 1-3, although easily could/should be 2-2 with the Devin Gardner/Hoke going for 2pt decision.

Not really up for another loss, no. Even in 2017 I said I wasn't going into the game but at the last minute tickets came available within the group and my son really wanted to go, so we did.

You never went as a student?

I sold my ticket in 1999 (dumb), and went in 2001 (shocking loss, heralding the beginning of the Dark Ages).

I've also been in 2005, 2007, and 2011... making me also 1-3.

You're right ...that is just the recent era. I also went in 1991, my freshman year when we smoked them and then again in 1992 when we road-tripped to Columbus, so lifetime in person vs osu I would be

2-3-1

have a bunch of family & friend commitments this fall... it's crazy. and two of the weekends I'd otherwise be free, we have BYEs.

Only decent game I can come back for is ND. I guess it's gonna be another ND game for me this year by default. Next year gets a little better.

Last time I went to a homegame (2016) I figured it would be easy to find a tailgate... but two guys I knew who were reliable drinkers/tailgaters for years turned out to have gone completely sober (not too shocking, but a bummer to discover ON gameday when you're heading to Ann Arbor).

Fortunately I had a fallback of a friend of a friend who has run a tailgate for years; never met him in person, but corresponded with him (he runs a big NCAA pool every march).

A fifth of Wild Turkey made me a welcome guest at his tailgate.

Is that when we did shots of Turkey in the driveway?

no. this was 5 years later, at the 2016 Wisconsin game.

for some reason, wild turkey became my go-to booze for shots on gamedays. Not sure I'd do that anymore...

Worst was 2009, for the WMU game. but back then, you had to get loaded to be able to watch RichRod-coached teams.

that 2011 Under The Lights game was wild... I figured I'd never find where you were, because we went to a med school tailgate in someone's backyard (my friend was doing his residency there at the time), but then I saw that Spanish flag in the yard next to ours.
