Just got to a restaurant that has CNN covering the storm, don't they know Libya happened almost 2 months ago?

CNBC, MSNBC, C-SPAN 1 & 2 and CNN - none are talking about Sandy or the storm. You mean they don't discuss it 24-7, shit man.

Well I hope they are talking about Fast and Furious, Solyendra, or Libya. That's all us Americans care about.

You guys make it sound like FN is about Libya or the Presidential race and your precious CNN is all about Sandy. The thing you fail to grasp is CNN is as Liberal as FN is conservative.

I will give you MSNBC is, but they don't claim to be "Fair and Balanced".

Haha. what part of CNN isn't Liberal. Fair and balance might be a stretch but its much more fair and balanced than CNN is. Has a Conservative every been on CNN?

10yrs ago the discussion of "conservative" vs "liberal" media may have been relevant or, well, interesting. Anybody who thinks FoxNews is anything but a PR outlet for the "conservative view" is willfully ignorant. MSNBC learned its schtick from Fox only after it demonstrated how replacing journalism with hyperbole and propaganda kept eyes glued to that one channel. No intelligent person should consider corporate cable media to be about anything but $$$ and even Geraldo's loser ass blasted Fox for the blatant and lame attempt to politicize Libya so blatantly.

That is so wrong. Fox News, Rush, Hannity all came about because of the liberal media.

Well I am not sure if Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, or Glenn Beck are conservatives but they all had shows on CNN. There is nothing balanced about Fox except for maybe the car chases they show. CNN has a guy from The Blaze on their morning show, the fucking Blaze. CNN's primetime pundits coverage events like Syria, hurricanes, national and world events, and yes even politics. Now I am not saying they are totally unbiased but to say they lean like Fox is just false.

Not everyone on Fox is Conservative. Use Google.

Nope.

Convincing people that the "mainstream media" was biased and liberal was part of the sales pitch of Fox to begin with. The National Review, John Birch and so forth all existed long before FoxNews was invented and shills like Hannity were plucked from the radio and put on TV. Partner Hannity with that dope Colmes and create a ridiculous depiction of "balance" and begin to feed the PR to the people who like to be told what they want to hear.

ClearChannel is the nation's largest radio media company and is worse than Murdoch's tabloid-style sensationalism. Read the book Banana Republicans - it details the history of how the Laura Ingrahams and Sean Hannitys came to be.

In the end, the media is supposed to be objective or even ...gasp! "liberal" because the media is SUPPOSED to provide factual information and act as a whistleblower or check against governments and corporations.

Now that the media IS a giant corporation, that premise is long dead.

So yeah, Rachel Maddow is liberal and Sean Hannity is conservative and each serves their respective role as PR rep for the cause. Toss in Bill O for shits & giggles and let Chris Matthews spit all over and you have Infotainment at its profitable finest.

CNNs problem is that it caught on too late. They didn't realize that "news" alone wasn't sufficient to drive ratings and fell behind, after being the innovator of the 24-hour news cycle.

Yeah they are full of liberals. Not only are their pundits far right but most of their topics are. I am sure Juan Williams gets a lot of time on air without being interrupted. I gave you that MSNBC=FOX.

Towel heads? They're talking about American deaths.

Yes, Americans killed by "them," the towelhead muslim extremists to which Obama is loyal. And "they" could attack any time and any place. In fact, "they" might be behind Sandy too. You know how "they" are and even when Dan Rather goes to Libya and interviews members of the new government who dispel the notion that all Muslims are not in fact extremists, you know its just some liberal hack spreading false propaganda in order to subvert the fact that "they" are out to get us and that Obama is one of "them."

...

the difference between then and now is that people are dumber and therefore enough of them fall for the nonsense that Fox News is selling.

also this idea that Fox may be biased but anyone who disagrees with them is also biased is just false.

Fox can be and often is WRONG WRONG WRONG. Factually wrong, and wrong about the policies and candidates they advocate. Pointing this out doesn't make one "biased."

And CNN and all other media news outlets.

And Victor, as long as you believe it it must be right. Even my idiot brother who is Liberal knows the media is by far left. Its not hard to see..And as much as you hate O'Reilly is how I feel about the CNN dumb-fuck.

You're left, that's the way you think. Always against the right and Fox News. Which is fine but don't sound like Fox is bad and CNN is righteous.

Mitch, you are not reading what I am actually posting. First, I didn't say "all Fox talks about is Libya," I specifically said that was the case yesterday and in contrast to ALL the other cable channels. Clients of mine often have TVs on because we work on Wall Street and many have FoxNews on to demonstrate quite clearly how they stand, politically. So yesterday, through my day, I had guys watching Fox, CNN, CNBC, FoxBusiness & HL (nobody watches MSNBC).

Second, as I posted, the media is SUPPOSED to be a check against corporations and governments, not shills for them. When 50% of Fox "contributors" are former Bush Admin, it's pretty clear what view they are pushing. Call CNN "liberal" all you want, it's a for profit company too. Fox invented the formula for keeping people watching only one channel after years of folks "flipping around" by catering to one myopic and dogmatic line.

I'm not. CNN was recently caught doing this. don't bother reading it; it's long and contains some big words. just suffice to say, I view CNN as equally in bed with the people they should be covering. I wouldn't trust their reporting anymore than I would Fox's.

I hate NBC, Fox, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, almost equally.

I think the real divide here isn't left-right as much as it is that these are large corporations that are "selling" a product and a narrative to us. they're just the PR branches of GE, CBS/Viacom, Disney, NewsCorp... with different flavors, all of which are approved for public consumption.

you want the real news story, you won't get it from any of these. and if it that real story - the ways people are exploited by wealthier, politically powerful people - has a "liberal bias" to you, well, that's a product of decades of conditioning.

Heh, this "topic" has hit Facebook now too. Some "conservative" friends are "liking" and re-posting info that is blaming the "mainstream media" (of which Fox is clearly a member too,, but inferred not to be) for covering Sandy in order to make Obama look good.

I seem to recall this "mainstream media" covering the staged relief efforts of one Mitt Romney while in Ohio ....sending canned food bought from Costco and in direct contrast to NY mayor Bloomber's request that folks NOT send canned food, but simply money.

I guess electronically transferring money isn't as dramatic in front of the cameras as pretending to load food on to a truck is.
