I hate the Yankees and there is nothing better than getting the chance to knock them out of the playoffs again....but since the Tigers would get home field if Baltimore wins...I have to root for Baltimore.

Definitely the Orioles. If not only to keep the Yankees out of the limelight.

Would love to see the Tigers have home-field for the ALCS, so Baltimore.

Yankees.

More of a challenge. More Media exposure for the Tigers. The link they have in the one trade (Jackson/Scherzer/Coke/Schlereth). I could go on and on.

Now, had the A's advanced...I would then prefer an A's versus O's vowel series.

Orioles, because FUCK THE YANKEES. And also no fatass pitching against us.

I am rooting for a 20+ inning game. If I were to pick a team, it would be the Yankees. I would take far more pleasure in beating the Yankees.

It has to be Baltimore.

Assuming we get beaten, I don't want the NL team to win (Washington would be okay though) and I sure as hell don't want to hear about #28 for the fucking Yankees.

So my preference would be Detroit, Washington, Baltimore, Giants, Yankees, the last two possibly making the off season unbearable. I'm just glad Texas tanked.

Seems like us not having to travel and the O's having to travel to Detroit would be an advantage for us in game one.

Home field advantage is a fairly big thing. Not that the Tigers haven't knocked the Yankees off on the road, but still...home field advantage is a fairly big thing.

Who wears #28 for the Yankees?

Rooting for the Orioles, by far. Even discounting home field advantage, the Orioles have been a very mediocre team this year that are primarily benefitting from luck. Not a single walk-off win against this year, kind of like a perfect save record. The Yankees are getting stymied offensively, sure, but they are a MUCH better offensive team than that overall. Just like Cabrera-Fielder are unlikely to produce so little going forward, it's highly unlike the Yankees just continue to forget how to hit.

Baltimore has a middle of the pack pitching staff and middle of the pack offense. Their overall run differential was +7. Winning close games might be a skill, but getting whacked in losses means something too. Quite simply, I think we are a better team than Baltimore, while New York has the talent to beat anybody at any given time.

He means the 28th world series championship.

I am rooting for Baltimore, but personally, if the Yankees win, I have tickets to the first game of the Alcs that I got through a friend in the apartment building that is a Yankees fan, and I haven't seen a Tigers game in person in 22 years, so I would enjoy that as well. In the end, I am of course rooting for the Tigers, and home field advantage seems to mean a lot for them, so Baltimore gets the nod.

I say Bmore..even though NY is struggling I feel like Detroits chances are better against the O's, much like their chances were better against the A's than the Rangers. I'm all about getting to the WS and winning..I couldn't care less about "the challenge." Anyone who says yeeeah but the Tigers beat Oakland and Bmore to get to the WS can kiss my ass should they win it all.

Balt has 2 leftys in the middle of their rotation, tigers kryptonite is leftys. But yeah it would be nice to have home field advantage. I'm hoping for rain to win so jv & max have a good chance at pitching 2 games if they have to.

Should that happen, it would be because the As beat Texas for the division title, and Baltimore beat both Texas and the Yankees.
