Hard to say but it has to be Gym Shorts (btw, awesome nickname whoever thought of it).

His disciple or lack there of, his approach that rushing 4 (always) is a good idea, and because he says such stupid things like this:

Instead, Schwartz said it was all about playing the running back whose style is best suited for the wet, rainy conditions in Pittsburgh, and that’s Joique Bell. Schwartz said Bush does his best work when he can cut on a dime on a good surface, and that on a wet day he’d rather have a straight-ahead runner like Bell carry the load in the running game.

And yet Bush gets more carries anyway. I could go on and on..

I wonder why Bush had more carries. Bell get hurt or something?

Even before he got hurt Bush had more carries. Bad decision after bad decision. Fake FG anyone.

Mayhew has made his share of bad drafting decisions, but he's been better lately (not solely because of Xanders, but that hire didn't hurt).

This team has enough talent to win, so it's on the coaching staff led by JS. There's no accountability toward JS, GC and SL. Axe 'em all.

Well, it's not that hard to look at the things that both are supposed to do.

We have 4 O-linemen, 1 QB, 2RB, and 1 WR (Burleson) that were acquired during Mayhew's tenure and are quality players at their positions. The O-linemen are rather impressive given the assets used to acquire them (none high first rounders, only one cost us more than a 3rd round pick) and their strength as a unit.

We have 2 DTs, 2 DEs, 2LBs (counting Levy thanks to this year), and probably 1.5 DBs that are quality players or better. Our D-line is a legitimately high end unit, and our LBs are probably above average. Our DBs are a train wreck most of the time, but with Quinn, Delmas, and Houston (given injuries and responsibilities) there is about 1.5 quality players most games.

We have some talent obviously.

Now, we regularly rank as one of the most penalized teams in the league. Our offseasons are considered strong when we don't hear of more than one police report that includes our players. We've directly lost probably three games in the last 2 years due entirely to a coaching decision. Our defense, which has talent, regularly ranks in the bottom of the league and regularly gives up significant yardage early (which speaks directly to lack of readiness).

Anyone reading our roster would have to agree we have talent, so Mayhew is at least doing an adequate job.

Anyone watching our games would have to agree our team appears lost too often and undisciplined, so it's difficult to make an argument that Schwartz isn't hurting is.

Oh btw, he says using Bush less in Pittsburgh was because of the rain yet he has no problem with your freakin' P being used on a fake FG. Genius.

I don't even fault him for the fake FG. He didn't have any confidence in our defense (which was the right call), and knew getting the FG wasn't going to be enough. Being up 11 vs up 7 was worth a lot more than the downside of only being up 4. With or without the field goal, the defense needed to get a stop, or at least keep the opponent out of the end zone. Schwartz made the right call in expecting the defense to fold. At that point, being up 11 was the only real way to expect a victory.

Fake FG, typically its low risk when the other team is starting at their own 3. Worst defensive series of the year with backups getitng picked on in Carey and Gomes all the way down the field.

Losing the DB coach Walton was a loss for this team.

My hatred for mayhew stems from his complete lack of being able to draft and for years he did nothing in FA....so aka he was pretty much useless prior to Xanders getting here.

Gym Shorts sucks cause his failure to get rid of Gunther and Scott L. Im convinced both coordinators are a hinderance to this team. How the fuck do you have 3 first round picks on your dline and yet they cant get to the qb? Execution is clearly a problem on the offensive side of the ball and that comes down to 2 things....a bad o cord and an inaccurate qb. Throw in Gym cant manage a clock to save his life, his ridiculous attitude, and his propensity to coach based on his emotions....welp he pretty much sucks as a head coach. SVP and Rissilo always make fun of coaches that throw a red flag just cause theyre pissed....that's totally Gym.

I really cant decide on which one I hate more right now but since I cant pick both I think I give mayhew the nod for the mere fact he was a part of millens staff and clearly made dumb decision after dumb decision for much longer as a part of this team than Shorts has.

In the rain though? Gym Shorts is okay not using Bush as much in the rain but his P in the rain? Something wrong with that..

Bush in known run situations or the element of surprise. Didn't work, Waddle blocked the wrong guy. Fire the special teams coordinator.

Always someone else's fault. Btw, I just watched that play again, Waddle went where he was suppose to.

Initial block but not at the second level. He stays tight and Hayward McClendon don't touch Martin.

He made the right call. But Pittsburgh had too many defenders, probably knew it was coming.

They smoked us but even if it was the OL 's fault which it wasn't - great team we have. Yeah for mediocrity.

This sums it up for me. I think Gym Shorts stinks. MM is more miss than hit, but after success this year and considering we can't hire a GM to save our lives I'd give him a pass.

I think hes over-exagerating on our defensive talent. You cant rank all those players as being quality if as a whole they suck so bad year after year. But atleast it was well written.

And ill agree with 3 of the offensive lineman...not sure who the 4th is hes referring to but if its waddle hes has some pretty bad games grade wise and has only started 3....little early to call him a "quality starter" id think.

Im stuck at 1 WR....a quality #2 should put up huge numbers in this offense with how much we throw the ball.....nate is consistently below average.

All his legitimate super star talent is getting paid more than anyone else in their position. SUh, Calvin, Stafford....you cant blame it on rookie contracts cause mayhew decided to extend each of them so many times. So while you can give him credit for getting guys like suh and staff....I can also blame him for paying a top 20 qb top 1 money and getting us in a position where we are about to owe Suh 21 million for 1 year lmao. Both....absolutely ridiculous.

throw in the avril debacle and several other contractual blunders like delmas and Houston....welp...mayhew still blows in my eyes.

I honestly don't know who to dislike more. Is Schwartz to blame for having 2 weeks to gameplan for a team only to see a team completely lost out there. I need an explanation, because I don't understand at all. I would think the coordinators should take the biggest blame for that, but I won't pretend to know what happens leading up to games.
