Your Lions Offseason

6'2 245? Sounds like our New starting DE to replace Avril. Mayhew is such a genius, CB playing S, OLB playing DE, TE playing slot, T playing G, and now kickers playing on the line = Championship!

You know though I'm pretty sure our T will be playing FB.

I didn't realize Kickilicious had a tryout with Detroit recently.

Sammie Lee Hill - DL - Lions MLive.com's Anwar Richardson says "at least four teams" have shown interest in free agent DT Sammie Lee Hill.
None of the teams that are interested are known, but Hill, 26, is expected to have a decent market as a young, pocket-pushing tackle. Coming off a down year that saw Hill register just 15 tackles in 15 games, he should come relatively cheap.

mayhew must have watched smith on hbo...

Sean Smith - DB - Dolphins The Miami Herald reports "between three and five teams" have contacted free agent CB Sean Smith since midnight Saturday.
So, four. We kid. The Eagles and Chiefs are believed to be two of the teams, and the 49ers, Buccaneers, and Lions have been previously rumored as having some level of interest. Smith's market ought to heat up a bit on Saturday.

Damontre Moore - DL - Player NFL Network's Mike Mayock reports that Texas A&M DE Damontre Moore weighed in at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds at Friday's Pro Day.
Unfortunately, Moore suffered a hamstring during the workout and couldn't run another forty-yard dash. So he's standing on his 4.95 from the Combine. We wonder if Moore might have run in the 5s at his new, heavier weight. Moore has packed on ten pounds since measuring 6-foot-5, 250 in Indianapolis.

another cb might be on the market....overpaid veteran might not be the best plan for us though.

DeAngelo Hall - DB - Redskins Citing a source close to the situation, the Washington Post considers it "highly likely" that the Redskins will release DeAngelo Hall.
ESPN's Adam Schefter first mentioned Hall as a release candidate Thursday, but the Redskins were expected to make a "take it or leave it" pay-cut offer. It appears they won't go that route, instead outright cutting the 10-year veteran. The Skins are currently $3 million over the cap, and releasing Hall would clear $8 million. Hall has been routinely torched in coverage in D.C.

sneak peak to my new rd 2 pick favorite.

Jonathan Cyprien - DB - Player FIU S Jonathan Cyprien ran two forty times in the 4.5s and bench pressed 225 pounds 18 times at his Pro Day.
The numbers are notable because Cyprien sat out the Combine due to a minor injury. A fast-riser during "draft season," Cyprien goes 6-foot, 217 with nearly 32-inch arms. He's expected to be drafted somewhere in the second round.

fml...its not the running back you morons!!!!! you've tried like 6 different guys in 4 years. Its not the effing running back! thick skulled nutjobs!!!!

Reggie Bush - RB - Dolphins The Detroit Free Press confirms that Reggie Bush has "emerged as one of the Lions’ top targets" in free agency.
Lions GM Martin Mayhew has already said that failing to replace Jahvid Best was his biggest failure last offseason. Detroit is expected to make Bush one of its first calls when the legal tampering window opens at midnight. The Falcons and Bengals have also been mentioned as suitors. Related: Lions

Lawrence Jackson - DL - Lions Free agent DE Lawrence Jackson hasn't "had a whole lot of dialogue" with the Lions as the signing period approaches.
Jackson wants to return as Kyle Vanden Bosch's replacement, but it's unclear whether the feeling is mutual. Jackson, who turns 28 before the season, had 2.5 sacks in 2012. He's at least reasonable about his market value: "I know I won't command some of the big contracts that some of the defensive ends are getting."

should be our #1 priority in FA. not reggie bush...

Chris Gamble - DB - Free Agent MLive.com suggests the Lions could be interested in free agent CB Chris Gamble.
Detroit is in desperate need of secondary help, and they like their corners to have some length. Gamble, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, should have plenty of suitors and could come as a bargain in a deep free-agent cornerback market. Related: Lions

I agree. I'd take Gamble over Bush in a heartbeat. I thought you didn't like injury gambles though hughes. No pun intended. Gamble has a bum shoulder and missed most of last year.

Gamble with a bum shoulder or bullet Bill with a bum shoulder. Tough call.
