Draft:

1 Dee Milliner CB
2 Margus Hunt DE
3 Khaseem Greene OLB
4 DJ Swearinger S (should get a 4th for Eric Wright)
5 Brad Wing P
6 Theo Riddick Rb/Wr
7 Marquise Goodwin Wr/KR

Free Agency:
Paul Kruger DE
Mike Wallace WR
La'rod Stephens-Howling RB

Resign:
Houston
Durant
Delmas
SLH

Restructure Staff. Negotiate lower salaries for burleson and KVB. Let CW and Levy walk. Still have a hole at safety.

One, I'm not sure Wallace would be okay being a 2. Two, Do you really want that much tied into the WR position? Because Wallace is gonna get paid..

I don't think he gets any more than 6 mil/ yr. Burlesons last contract was for 5 per year. Antonio Brown outplayed Wallace and he had injury concerns last year. I think he killed his value and was never anything more than a deep threat potential #2 WR in the first place.

Someone will pay him and I bet its more than 6 per. How about picks, would he cost any of those?

hes a free agent. If he costs too much we simply don't sign him. Theres just not enough draft picks to fill all of our holes....gotta do something in FA one of these years.

The stink of the Lions will spoil anyone who comes here. The only off-season moves I want too see is the sale of the team to an owner who is committed only to putting a quality team on the field.

whats your problem with the Old Man ? state of the art building , the payroll is at the max.....ownership can only do so much , pay the bills and give them anything they ask for....which he does.

could be worse....you could be a Jags fan

The 'all affordability' FA list (not necessarily the 'wish' list)

Safety

Delmas

I see him being back. They'll try to draft his coworker or pair him with a bargain vet like the one below.

Kenny Phillips S Giants

Coming off a knee injury, RFA Stevie Brown played well in his absence. If healthy a really good safety, and only 26. The Lions probably shouldn't take a chance on another safety coming off an injury but, its the Lions so he is definitely on this list.

CB

Houston

The Lions best shot at a db free agent 70-30 he's back. If not look for Sean Smith Dolphins, Derrick Cox Jaguars to take his place. All are better as #2 corners but are solid-good #1s. Cox and especially Smith are big big corners.

Lacy

Back as our nickel.

LB

Durant/Levy back

DL

Avril personally I see him back. 7-8 mil. LoJack Back. Young Back. DE upgrade through draft if they part ways with KVB but he may be back at a significantly reduced rate.

DE Dwight Freeney

If KVB isn't back we may sign someone like Freeney for depth, vet influence as they like to have that in every position. Would be at best a 2 year rental.

Center

Crapola at a reduced rate. Possibly Nagy if Crapola doesn't comply, which he will. Dylan Gandy.

Rob Turner C Rams

Utility man who would be a cheap signing.

Guard

Peterman may be gone so here is one area we may actually upgrade. Draft is a possibility with Barrett Jones and other.

I could actually see us pursuing Andy Levitre. More likely we will get a Eben Britton from the Jaguars. Kevin Boothe is a vet from the Giants that can play booth C/G so he may be a possibility too, but they may try to go younger.

Tackle

Gosder resigned. Backus resigned/retired. Hopefully Reiff starts at LT this year. Fox takes his usual job handing out ice in the training room.

RB

If we try to make a splash Reggie Bush. Since this is the all affordable team Danny Woodhead. They will move Vereen to his spot on the offense and we could sign him as our Speed back/wr returner upgrade to Logan X 1000. Great redzone guy who can run option routes out of the backfield and cut on a dime. System guy in NE who would suck in most offenses but we run that system with our speed back. Other options on the cheap LSH from the Cards and Mike Goodson from the Raiders.

WR

Young and Broyles will be back. Broyles by mid season probably. Nate will be back with a big pay cut, even though he should be gone along with Young. Number of great options out there. Jennings to the Phins. Wallace and Bowe get some dough (although I too would love Wallace with Young turfed). Personally I want DX from the Chargers. If they sleep on him and tender him with a 3rd give it to them and take the perfect player for us. Injury issues in the past are the only concern.

Draft:
1) Milliner or Warmack
2) Matt Elam (safety)
3) Barret Jones (center)
4) William Gholston (d end)

Plug in Gholston for Vanden Bosch, and at the very least we have a run-stuffer on the right side with potential to develop. Jones immediately should replace Raiola or Peterman, depending on our other picks. Elam gives us a FS that hopefully doesn't fall apart every other game, while Milliner and Warmack are obvious.

I would say let CW walk. See if we can work something out to trade Avril, if not he becomes a cap casualty. Kruger seems out of our price range (expected to get around 40 million this year). I'd like to try poaching someone like Michael Johnson from Cincinnati, and at least getting in talks with Connor Barwin about taking over Levy's spot.

My problem with the Old Man: He hires idiots to run the team. For decades now.

Read today that Broyles is now running; first time since surgery.

Well good on him, HGH is supposed to be tested for this year, so get it in you now. Would be nice to have him back ASAP but would rather he be 100%. Maybe he'll make it for the regular season?

gotta roll with who wants the job....anyone with any pedigree in the NFL won't come near this franchise , Detroits a graveyard.

I saw Brad Wing and I said "HELL YEAAAAAH!"

That dude had a lot to do with LSU winning games. He ALWAYS put the defense in a good position with other teams having to make 80+ yard drives due to his booming punts and that weird rugby style (or whatever it is) he uses.

This team needs that just as much as leaders and the filling of all the other holes on the team.

oops

Yep. 0 for 1. I didn't think Mayhew had it in him. Hopefully he's the first of many.

knew he was gone the minute he got the Kitna and that other WR treatment. they told to go home and not comeback a few years ago.

its how they roll....no balls to cut a guy to his face.

ya Titus is a fucking headcase , but have the nuts to cut a guy to his face.
