Tigers vs. redsox ALCS Game 4 Thread

Finish this and it's a brand new series, I can guarantee you Boston is not looking forward to Sanchez, Scherzer, and maybe Verlander again.

Porcello 9th? Benoit? Veras? Smyly again or save him for tomorrow with a 5 run lead?

I think I'd actually go with Porcello.

+1. You can't have a fans perspective that everything is going to go wrong. You have to have faith in people and make the decision you think benefits the team the most. And that decision was defense.

The disagreement is merely the timing of the moves not the moves themselves

Kelly could have just as easily caught that after going to left in the 8th AFTER JP hits in the 7th

I'm starting to side with byco on this, the marginak benefit of a betyer fielder is minimal and you need the hitters if they do tie.

If we must make defensive movers, I'd put cabby at 1b and go with ramon or jp at 3b.

Cabrera hasn't played 1B in 2 seasons, that's a risk.

I like the idea of yanking Prince and putting Miggy at 1st. That's good.

Right but the inning before the Ellsbury double, Peralta handled it badly, took a poor route to get the carom off the wall, and was not quick to pick it up.

If Ellsbury had not stumbled a bit going past 1st, it would have been a triple, not that it mattered anyways.

Jhonny never played of and we're playing him there. I don't think cabby can be worse than Prince and we lose less offense

But he practiced it for 2 weeks in the Florida instructional league, you're talking about making a move on the fly. Not even remotely the same thing.

wait, is benoit warming? dont fucking use him with a 5 run lead!

We could use anyone in the 9th and get out of the inning. The danger is if benoit has a stressful inning and throws a lot of pitches

thats what im worried about, i don't want him unavailable if we need him tomorrow because we used him when we didnt need him.

Was that not the most pointless segment/Tim McCarver rant you have ever heard?

I understand its not the same thing but I think the defensive risk is higher with fielder at 1b vs cabby
