Cespedes traded to mets for 2 prospects

We don't know if there was a deal for Bruce. Gomez is signed next year for $9M which is pretty cheap...so they would be getting another full year out of him for Wheeler.

But they were throwing in Flores too on top of Wheeler.

I agree. We should have sent them Moya with Cespedes to get wheeler or Matz back.

It's a lot easier to give up more if you know you get an extra year out of them..just the way it works.

Gomez is as good id not better and jad another year control on top of it with the ability to recieve a compensatory pick at the end of the contract.

Word is the Mets were willing to part with Wheeler because they planned on Fullmer starting for them next season.

When knows, but it doesn't seem like we got much for Cespedes.

I like Fulmer. He has ace type stuff. Cessa seems like a bullpen piece.. idk. We got a lot of players in 2 days, but I don't know if I like many of them besides Norris and maybe Boyd. We have a lot more pitching depth, though.. a lot of these guys will be in Detroit before the end of the year.

I dont trust a guy who decided Robbie Ray was worth trading 2 years of Doug Fister.

White sox system sucks, probably couldn't have gotten a better deal from them

And the Mets have found some good young pitchers recently. Hopefully we struck gold with one of them.

We definitely wouldn't have gotten anything good for Davis, Avila, etc. I definitely want to see these new guys in september. If we're out of the race, our rotation should include Norris, Boyd, and Fulmer in Sept.

Not sure how many innings these guys have pitched this season...but a lot of times these young guys are done after the minor league season is over.

I like the deal, we needed to get something for Cespedes and we got 2 young pitchers, and Fulmer looks very promising.

There really was no market for Avila and Davis, and Kinslers contract makes him impossible to move without eating 80% of the money owed to him.
