Cespedes traded to mets for 2 prospects

Warming up to this trade some.

Overall we've added 6 prospects who will be in our top 20, maybe 3 of them will be in our top 5. Not bad in terms of rebuilding our farm system, and it seems like 4 of the 6 are ready to contribute at the major league level. Really changes the outlook for the future.

I will agree to loving the quantity of pieces we added. We got Norris, a top prospect, but he seems to really struggle with command. Other guys like Boyd and Fulmer seem way more polished and MLB ready. Yet, those are the guys going to the minors?

Outside of command issues(to be expected at his age) Beau Burrows seems to be making a nice transition to pro ball. Strikeouts are nice, and isn't allowing many hits so far. Obviously, he's 4-5 years down the road, but that's an important time frame. Would be nice if we picked a college pitcher in the draft, so we had even more talent in the same group as far as readiness.

Do people realize we likely just gave up zero players who would have been on our team next season. We gave up nothing in 2016 and rebuilt our farm system's top 20 prospects. We can add a few FAs in the off season, hope on if the new prospects pan out and now have some pieces to trade if we are buyers next season.

Fister is garbage.

Last year his 2.41 era was better than anything we got in return. He could be terrible the rest of his career and that won't change as our only player we got that we still have is Krol.

Hopefully none of the pitchers we go will listen to jones. Pretty sure he ruins more then he helps. At least it feels that way.

Robbie Ray > Doug Fister this year and it's not really that close.

In hindsight, the bad deal was trading Ray for Greene. lol

Nonetheless, we don't have anyone but Krol. One bad trade compounded by another.
