Man, Bernie Sanders is so great

Bump.

Bernie's Running! I'm fuckin' STOKED.

But this time around how is he going to differentiate himself from Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren?

They?re the same on the issues, but they have the advantages of having vaginas and being Indian.

he could go on a hip hop radio station and say he smoked pot while listening to the Sugar Hill Gang when he was in college and they were all in 1st grade.

Even if it's Trump vs. Ocasio-Cortez in 2024?

an improbable scenario - she will turn 35 a month before the election, is that enough to make her eligible? Either way, Trump would be termed out by then or Bernie or someone else would be the incumbent Dem or he'd have to primary an incumbent R who primaried him and won the general. It's probably not worth answering but yeah, especially if it's Trump vs. AOC in 2024.

Wait! When they said "Hip to the hippie, you don't stop" I had no idea they meant an actual hippie.

Mind blown. Sugar Hill Gang were the first Bernie supporters.

Rap music is all about the minimalist hippie culture - has been since the very beginning. They'd probably support Bernie because Bernie was one of their first supporters - he'd been listening to them since they were in elementary school.

In this scenario, I do mean to imply he'd be running for his 3rd term. Terming out is probably in the Constitution in a way that would require republicans to help enforce it, so he'd get his chance.

Because of the Republican majority on the Supreme Court? I don't think the Dems would willingly run against Trump for a third time after being humiliated by him twice.

Or the Senate, or it'd a super-majority or something like that. But yeah, after 2 losses, the dems wouldn't be helping him.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the Dems nominated this radical leftist septuagenarian loonbag and it was he who ended up playing the spoiler role for Shulz' independent bid that gets Trump elected? I might have to take a day off work unable to stop laughing if that were to happen.

he could win, but then again lot of the younger generation dems don't want another old white guy, so they say.. anyway I used to like Bernie when he was railing against the big banks before I fully realized just how socialistic he was. too far to the far left side of too many of the issues for my liking.

They’re the same on the issues, but they have the advantages of having vaginas and being Indian.

Kamala Harris was vetted by the Clinton camp, collected big checks from the banks, etc.

That is the most important fundamental distinction between Sanders and all other Democratic presidential candidates really, and one that's impossible to fake.

Harris can - and will - pay lip service to all the leftist causes while she's in the primary. And her current stances are all a lot different from her past actions and positions on these things.

Sanders positions on all these issues has remained consistent for decades, long before he ran for any federal office.

EDIT: and as far as differentiating himself from Warren, you could look at their records as elected officials. But he doesn't really need to; he just needs to run his own campaign. He's more popular than her, and also hasn't done any dumb things like the whole DNA test misstep.

BTW- I've read some summaries of her claim to be native American, and talk about a "nothingburger..." she never benefitted from it in any way, and she stopped doing it well before running for any office.

The DNA test thing was stupid, not only because it's offensive to Native Americans who actually live on reservations, but because DNA testing for ethnicity is incredibly vague and unscientific, based on averages of genetic groups that appear in geographic areas, and is only reasonably accurate for people purely of European descent since most of the generit test results have been compiled for white people (link).

But she has since apologized to the Cherokee, who are the only people who had reason to be offended by her comments, so everyone else should STFU about it.

tell us more about what the younger generation says and wants...

Your entire post is echoing the Clinton campaigns talking points from '16 on Sanders.

Does Trump have a nickname for him?

yesterday night or maybe this morning he tweeted something about how "crazy bernie" has entered the race.

savage burn!

how is anyone going to stand up to this tough guy!
