Preseason Game 3: Lions @ Ravens Thread

Tate, riddick and abdullah usually very sure handed.
They looked fine. The backups getting torched at end of first half made it look way worse than it was.

Lions moved ball despite drops. Refs had 3 costly bad calls which cost the lions 10 points and helped ravnes get 7. Pass pro good. They ran well.

Lions are ready

Haha. Refs didn't make our guy hold. Blame the TE.

Wasnt talking about that play. The 3rd down to jones inc. That was a penalty on ravnes that refs didnt call

So how is that screwing us for 7 points? Was he going for a TD?

And why is that all refs miss calls on the other team, except us?

Yes in the endzone. First and goal instead of field goal

Refs didnt miss any for ravens. Missed 3 for lions. Refs are incompetent

It was clearly a penalty. Obvious td on first and goal from the one

Yes, because the Lions always score from the 1 yard line. Its just as obvious there's a hold, bad play -3rd and goal from the 19 where our QB throws a INT.

The Lions first string offense hasn't scored a TD still, yet they are "ready"? Caldwell even said before the game there's a ton of things they need to work on, and they looked less than stellar during the game also. Sounds to me like they are not even close to ready.

Losing Calvin is going to hurt us a lot in the red zone. We've seen it already that the offense is having trouble punching it in. No more reliable Calvin to throw it up to on the fade route to jump over everybody. I do like the overall WR makeup of Jones, Tate, and Boldin, but if we are constantly settling for FGs that is going to be a problem.

Tate was held against cincy and jones was held. If the other team is allowed to cheat, sure its hard to score

Lions scored 13 first half points truly and another 7 against cincy that turned to 3. Moved ball on pit but again a bogus hold on decker turned a first and goal into 3rd and long.

Refs took away 17 points or more. They are the ones who need to improve by week1

I am glad the refs messed up. We fly under radar then drop 40 on the colts

Refs always miss calls that benefit other teams but us.. makes sense now. I just thought* we had some bad teams for 58 years, it's just bad referring. Thank you.

So when the Lions have to overcome obstacles that all NFL teams have to deal with (bad calls), they can't do it. That's basically all you're saying. Good to know.

Bengals, steelers and ravens didnt have one bad call against them. Lions had 4 or more. Not even close to even

The perception would be much different if the refs did their job properly. Lions have plenty of redzone trips. Ran well with abdullah return and riddick long run. Pass pro was good for most part.

There is nothing to worry about

There are things lions could do better. But they moved ball and should have and truly didscore points at the level of play they had. Refs just took away 17 points with bad calls
