I agree with the Bonds ego thing. He was a weird guy man. He had 30+ HR power back when he was my size. He never needed to juice. You don't see a lot of guys with his power stealing as many bases as he did. He was awesome. I have an autographed ball. It's one of my favorite pieces next to my JV...- dale675

Same! Man I loved that Pirates squad. Bonds, Bonilla, Van Slyke, Bream. Pretty sure Bonds got the first ever 100m dollar contract when he went to SF. I was so bummed he left the Pirates. I got to see him play once at Wrigley when I was a kid.- dale675

Look at you cherry picking stats, who does that sound like? 5 1/3 innings of 4 run ball...who cares how he got the outs. Using your logic, that magical start is good for an ERA of 6.75. I don't disagree at all that this year could be an outlier for Boyd. That is why I said holding him any longer than this off season is a risk. And holding that long may come back to bite us. I could really care less, I don't see it as a move that will make us any better or worse. If they find a suitor offering a decent low level prospect, then awesome. But I think the fact he didn't get traded last year speaks volumes. I don't really care one way or another.- dale675

Exactly. Which is why I'm fine not trading Boyd now. Trading him doesn't really save much $, but it should make us a lot better prospect wise. I don't see him as a part of our long term plan so I do think he gets traded, I just hope they don't wait too long. If not this deadline I would have to...- dale675

People assume Chris Illitch wants to make trades that make us better. If that can happen, great. But his #1 concern is lowering payroll. Apparently no offers last year worth going for. This year he costs 4m more, regressed offensively and is a 3 month rental. Fodder is all we can expect this year. I suspect a nick trade is 100% to save money on this year's bottom line.- dale675
