Tigers vs. White Sox Preview: One last All-Star audition for Matthew Boyd.
A dominant outing could help Boyd?s chances of becoming a replacement pitcher in next week?s All-Star Game.

I can't believe people pay money to see this lineup in person.

Boyd needs a quick inning if he wants to go more than 6. IMO his lack of going deep into games keeps him from potential Ace status.

Could not be happier for James McCann. What a season he is having. On that note, was listening to the games on the radio yesterday and they were talking about the swing change Jacoby Jones made. Jim and Dan were talking about Lloyd McClendon. Lloyd claims he suggested Jacoby make that change to his swing a year ago but things were going well and he did not want to change it. A year later the scout suggested it when he was doing bad and on the verge of being sent down, so he made the change and started hitting the ball very well. I thought it was hilarious. The way they were talking about it they knew Lloyd was full of crap.

Tigers lead 3 - 2,

runners first and third, 2 out bottom 5th,

Boyd gets out of the inning now with 92 pitches and 12 K's. Might be a career high.

Back to back doubles by Miggy and Stewart,

Tigers score,

4 - 2,

Need 5/6 more runs to feel safe with the bullpen from hell.

Castro doubles, scores Stewart,

5 - 2,

Niko homers and 2 more runs,

7 - 2,

Mercer doubles and Reyes singles him in,

8 - 2,

Tigers listened to my post, hope the bullpen can hold a 6 run lead,

Tigers 11 - White Sox 5: Matthew Boyd strikes out 13 in series conclusion.
Now why couldn?t McCann score that much when he played in Detroit?
