Tigers extend Avila's contract

I contend that no potential or credible GM would want the Tigers' position because CI will not spend the $$$ required to improve the team, either in signing FAs or in retaining Tigers-turned-UFAs.

I thought that too but I'm sure leyland has a buddy he could recommend. He is the puppet of the organization after all.

Get a new GM and I still bet Mclendon is here for another 10 years.

Add another 5 years to the projection of this team winning again.

Always thought it was a bit ridiculous when people declare that they’re no longer a fan of one of their teams, but I’m seriously considering it with the Tigers. There’s several young up and coming teams to get excited about...Rays, Padres, Braves, Blue Jays...hell I’d even consider the White Sox at this point.

I just don’t know how much I can take of a bad team with a sketchy future.

The Tigers Chris Ilitch, Al Avila and the rest of the front office are now without a doubt the biggest laughing stock of all MLB executives.
Now we know for sure this is a clown show at the top.

Fuck you, Chris Ilitch.

Just like when the late Bill Ford re-upped Matt Millen.

Ilitch: This is a list of players that I want to invite to Spring Training this year.
Board Member #1: I've never heard of half of these guys and the ones I do know are way past their prime.
Gardenhire: Most of these guys never had a prime.
Board Member #2: This guy here is dead.
Ilitch: Cross him off then.

We've put up with the Lions for so long it seems the Tigers are easy to root for ..

White Sox will be the next team to rise to the top of the division, Tigers will be a non-factor through the middle of the next decade, and perhaps beyond.

"We have some good things happening" --Al Avila

Really?

Care to elaborate?

Guess not.
