I believe these are the lineups but didn't get it confirmed.

Bernier starting.

Lines:
Helm-Nielsen-Mantha
Smith-Filppula-Zadina
Erne-Veleno-Kuffner
Loggins-MacLeod-Kestner
That 4th line might be filling in for a line that played last night.

Defense Pairs:
Ericsson-Green
Daley-Seider
DeKeyser-Saarijarvi
Lashoff-Lindstrom

I was hoping so get to see some of the youngsters.

Still can't find confirmation of who is playing.

Although St. James said Mantha is ruled out.

Think there is an 8 veteran (NHL) player minimum for preseason games.

Seems kinda late that there are no official lines posted.

What constitutes a vet, just a year?

In the mean time I might watch a bit of NJD vs NYR before the Wings start. Even though I got tired of hearing about Hughes and Kakko.

Apparently Hughes not playing. I guess they don't want them to start the rivalry until the regular season.

Aye, excited to see what them young guns Daley and Ericsson are gonna do tonight.

:)

Veleno great job coming back to prevent Toews from scoring.

E and Daley looking faster than expected so far.

Couple bad shifts for Detroit.

Can't clear the puck, giving it up to Chicago forwards.

Goallll.

Hirose. Rebound after shot from Zadina.

so the final game of the season was in mid June and it's already starting up again? Hockey must be the longest season of any "major" sport.

Feel bad for Puempel. He always plays like this whenever he gets a callup from Detroit, but they never seem to give him a serious though in the NHL.

I mean, its only 2-4 teams that play up to June.

La Liga in Spain for example goes August to late May.

The top players will play internationally in the summer and team camps would start in July.

Unlike other leagues they don't take the winter break due to warm climate.
