2020 - 2021 Free Agents and Offseason Moves

Tigers manager AJ Hinch discussed some of the team?s offseasons plans with MLB Network Radio on Monday, per Jason Beck of MLB.com (Twitter links).
As you?d expect, one of the Tigers? priorities is to ?enhance? their pitching staff by adding at least one more starter. The Tigers have already been connected to righty Taijuan Walker in the rumor mill, but he?s far from the only affordable starter they could target in free agency. Likewise, the Tigers could choose from any number of free-agent hitters to improve their offense. ?The players have to want to come to Detroit,? Hinch said of potential offensive additions. ?It has to fit in our budget. We?re being patient, but we?re also being opportunistic when the time comes.?

That's basically the same lineup we had this past season even if they sign the SS from Texas. You don't need to spend much to get a little better. I'm tired of Goodrum, he needs to be replaced.

Edit: RF not SS.

Goodrum is a decent bench player since he can play good defense at both middle infield positions. I think they should give Alcantara a look. I don't think they should spend much on free agents.

I'm find with him as a bench guy but not 500 at bats.

I agree. I am at the point that I don't care if they win a single game this year...I just want to see some sort of payoff with some of the young guys. I don't care if it's with the Tigers or in the minor leagues. 2022 is when I want to see some momentum towards winning. 2023 is the year that I would expect that they should be in place to fight for the division.
