2020 - 2021 Free Agents and Offseason Moves

So after signing Jose Urena, who has bonuses on number of starts (so I assume he will start) what's the rotation look like?

Boyd
Turnbull
Mize
Skubal
Urena

Still need another starter. Mize and Skubal can't / won't be able to pitch enough innings. I think Fulmer ends up in the pen.

Looks like Last place. Play for 1st round draft pick. There catcher FA signing should be enough of a clue where this team is heading!

I'm fine with one more year of total shit. Get the #1 pick again next year and then start to try to compete

WILL THEY OR WON?T THEY?
Totally Tigers

The Hot Stove season is starting to get, well, hotter??.. The San Diego Padres just traded for Blake Snell and Yu Darvish.

And the Tigers just signed?. Jose Urena and Dustin Garneau.

Are you surprised? Disappointed? Resigned?

And are you pointing your finger at Al Avila?

Maybe that finger ? the index one, of course ? should be pointing elsewhere.

To ownership.

THE SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Saturday Survey offers readers the opportunity to weigh in on a relevant topic. So here is a poll to gauge the pulse of our passionate readers.
Today, we center the discussion on your expectations for the Tigers in 2021 compared to their last full season.
As always, we welcome your comments, so please vote and then submit your reasons (4 sentences max!) for how you voted in the usual comment box. Don?t forget to come back later and view the results!

So far this off-season, the Tigers have signed 1 journeyman pitcher and a 33-year-old back-up catcher (to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training). GM Al Avila has insinuated that the Tigers will hold back on acquiring the necessary players this year and is hoping that the younger players will step up.
?I look at it as being disciplined this year and resisting an urge to really try to step up. The last thing we want to do is go out and spend some money that we?re trying to get rid of next year or the year after that.?

So will these younger players step up? Will we see more of them in 2021? And will they start to make a difference?
In the past six years, Detroit has finished last in the AL Central 4 times with losses totaling from 98 ? 114 most recently. What are your expectations of performance for the 2021 year compared to the last full season in 2019 when they won 47 games and lost 114?

Compared to the Tigers' last full season (2019) what are your performance expectations heading into 2021?
1. A lot more wins.
2. A few more wins.
3. Similar record.
4. Worse record.
VOTE.

Al Avila or no Al Avila the Tigers wouldn't have traded for Snell or Darvish.
