2023 NFL Draft

I heard that Smith is way over rated because he had great numbers at the combine. A 2nd round talent but will be in the first because he ran a 4.4 40

I like JSN much more than QJ. I think JSN will be the best WR in this draft.

Nolan Smith was the #1 rated prospect out of HS. His upside is Von Miller imo. Slightly undersized but has the frame to add natural size and weight. And yes.. he's fast as hell... that's not a bad thing. Id rather have a guy like that over Tyree Wilson.

unfortunately, he's a QB that isn't a very good thrower of the ball.

Funny how he has that reputation but pretty much completes the same percentage of passes than Goff. Can Goff throw the ball in your opinion?

I think Goff is a little better. Throughout his career, he has had to throw the ball more often (about 80 more yards per game). The Ravens are a running team that throw much less.

In a vacuum, would I rather have Lamar or Goff, probably Lamar by a hair. However, if I had to give up 2 first round picks and pay the guy $45-$50M per year...hard pass. The Lions would be better off keeping Goff and drafting 2 young first rounders that should contribute for years to come

Yep this. Goff is a good passer, Lamar is a good passer slightly worse than Goff but can run. But has a bigger injury risk and costs way more

Goff now and a future QB and have that extra 1st and cap space to help the team more in the future. I don't know how long Lamar will be able to run this well either.

He?s 26. He?ll be running just fine for the entirety of his next contract.

he does seem to be injury prone though. Over the past 23 games that the Ravens have played, he has only played in 12

He's never played a full season. What makes you think that will get better with age?

He missed 2 games his first 3 years as a starter. Never has suffered any type of major injury.

For the record?Goff has only played full seasons 3/7 years in the league.

So you're saying he is becoming more injury prone?

No serious injury. I don?t blame any person being extra cautious and protecting themselves w $200 million dangling in front of them. I?d play it safe if I was in his shoes too.

No, I?m saying if we think Lamar is injury prone(which I don?t), shouldn?t we say the same for other QBs who?ve completed less than half their full seasons as starters aka Goff?

how's that working out for him?

He?s already turned down $175 million guaranteed. It only takes one team to offer an extra $25million. Im a betting man and would lay my money that someone will pay him.

Edit: we really don?t know what was offered or turned down, just can go off what?s been reported.

from what I have heard on the radio as recently as today, the most guaranteed money he turned down was $133M for 3 years. The other contracts that are being reported are larger but no more guaranteed money.

That is what was reported on NFL channel on XM today.

But you are right...nobody really knows except Lamar and the Ravens (or any other team that may have made an offer, which there have been no confirmed reports).

If I were him, I would negotiate a 3 year contract with no additional years. 3 years $135M, no ability to franchise tag, that's it. Then become a FA again in 3 years.

Simmons just extended for 94 mil. Which actually supports the idea they may be shopping him. In order to shop him they needed a deal to be done before the draft.

Yeah I'm sure teams are just lining up to throw money at a guy who would quit on his team.

Can't talk about Lamar without talking about his running 1k a season. Two first round picks AND 45 a year. That is about the hardest passes there are.

If they line up for Carr, Stafford, Cousins, Wentz or an unproven rookie, why the hell wouldn't you line up for the best play maker in the NFL? Again, it just takes one team, he?ll get his money. These owners/GMs can keep playing QB music chairs every year or pay for a franchise QB w Lamar.

Give it 2yrs from now and Goff will be part of the QB music chair conversation. Nobody wants to address QB right now, what are we gonna do when Goff is asking us for $40mil a year? Lol

the best play maker in the NFL. The guy that has had a top 5 defense in almost every year that he has been in the league. The same guy that has led his team to one playoff victory in those seasons? To be fair, he didn't have a chance in the playoffs the last 2 seasons, since he couldn't play in the last 6 games of each season because he couldn't finish due to injury.

That playmaker? :lmao:
