3-4 scheme

i know we play wide 9, and it has a good pass rush, but avril isnt good enough in run support and it relies to much on the DT's

i also know that we have the players to fill out a 3-4 scheme. which would dominate against the run and we'd be able to disguise coverage better and blitzing schemes.

suh and fairley at end
avril, KVB, lojack, and young could be great as OLB pass rush specialists.
tulloch AND levy or durant at MLB

nevermind williams was horrible in the 3-4 in cleveland. in your scenario, i think sammie would be the best NT prospect. KVB has never played standing up, and at the end of his career you want to change him? that shit's not happing either. a 3-4 isn't winning this team shit.

Let's see...DL is the team's strength....especially DTs. The team is weak at LB. Let's play only 3 DL and put 4 LBs out there. Good idea!

Few problems.

- Corey Williams isnt a 3-4 NT, maybe Hill.
- KVB like said before is in the latter part of his career.
- 3-4 DEs aren't known for pass rushing so Fairley and Suh would have less of an impact.
- Avril and Young could do pretty well at OLB, not sure about Jackson.
- The LBs in a 3-4 usually are taller and bigger types. Tulloch wouldn't work out.

So really the only advantage in a 3-4 scenario is Avril not having to play against the run.

our dline gets gashed vs the run in a 4-3....i can only imagine how shitty theyd be in a 3-4.

You would be a great coach. "Lets change the entire scheme because ONE guy isn't great against the run". Fantastic though.

haha well thank you for pointing out all my flaws, i didnt think about how it would neutalize our dt's pass rush bcuz they are best at that... and KVB will always be a hand on the ground guy, but i knew it wouldnt happen it was just fun. i can see us doing it to confuse a defense on specific plays couldnt u?
o and im only 19 so of course i dont know as much as u old timers

CW isnt fat enough to be a NT...see wilfork if you want an example of a 3-4 NT.

KVB isnt fat enough to be a 3-4 DE. See BJ Raji if you want an example of a good 3-4 DE.

Avril would be ok at 3-4 rush LB.

The rest of our LBs would suck in a 3-4 except maybe Durant.

Suh would make an ok 3-4 DE but has shown he doesnt really occupy space all that well vs the run. Youd pretty much be wasting his pass rush talents. See haynesworth in the 3-4 which ruined his career.
