Maybe, but the alternatives are not that appealing. Mankind is flawed and broken so this is not a surprise.

Speaking of alternatives, it seems reasonable to me for a Catholic neo-Luddite movement to pop out of a combination of distributism and the observation that technological progress consolidates the tools and means of economic production into the hands of fewer people. I haven't heard a peep about this sort of thing, but it seems to me like it should happen.

What would be the point? No one will ever get enough people on board to truly stunt technological growth and it would be idiotic to do so.

I'm no luddite, so I'm not the best to argue that side and I agree that technology won't stop, BUT the way it's progressing right now does sap something from the human experience when faceless people we never meet and mindless algorithms make more and more of the decisions each day related to more and more people's occupations. When computers make more decisions, or automate processes so fewer people can make decisions for more people, that's fewer decisions left for others to make and feel responsible for the success or failure of their labor. Not to say there haven't always been a lot of jobs without a lot of decision making, but the degree and types are changing and going to keep changing.

Drevno had no say in his communications becoming public. While advancing technology had nothing to do with the decision, it did play a role in how easily it reached people like us.

Yeah. Coaches do these things. Rich Rod allegedly accepted the Michigan job, whipped out his WVU work phone* and called Terrell Pryor before telling his own team he was leaving.
