NFL Competition Committee is really a bunch of clueless tools if they go through with making the XP a 43 yarder.

just bring back Leverage for at least 1 Dman, why is that so difficult??? keep tradition, keep fake tries, keep Fire Drills, add in potential for blocks that the CC removed long ago because the D was blocking too many kicks.

43 yds is the average fg made if I remember correctly. Also, means there will be more going for 2. I like it..... xpt has been the biggest waste of 5 minutes in football. This move will make decisions more strategic and the game should benefit from it.

It's stupid. Just remove it or have 2pt conversation all the time. A 43 yard extra point is beyond stupid.

Leverage didn't make blocks automatic and a blocked XP brings back the past instead of trying to create something new that is, like mitch said, stupid. I just don't understand why reinstating leverage isn't in more people's minds. It was banned / is a penalty because of how the D is able to block the kick. It isn't an automatic that the kick will be blocked, but it gives the D a fighting chance and will make coaches think twice.

If you want to add more drama, if the block is recovered by the offense then no points for either team but if they do not (d recovers or otherwise the kick is missed) then the D scores the point. I don't see a need for that much extra drama, but it would be far better than watching a 43 yard kick or not doing a kick at all and just giving the point instead of making them try.

The entire problem is in how the D is basically forced to lie down and watch the kicker. Give the D a small chance at a block at least!

they do have more chance of a block. How many extra points do you see blocked?.....almost none. Trajectory of a kick at 43 yards is much different and more susceptible to being blocked. Not saying it will happen all the time.....but it will happen more often than the current location. Any rule that makes teams go for 2 more often will benefit the league.

The league? Fuk the league. Leave it to what it was attended for, fans to make a kitchen break during the automatic extra point.
