Should be three IMO, but what's good is at 4th we are in the playoff talk as long as we keep winning.

Also #4 in the AP and we even received 2 first place votes. OSU no longer unanimous number 1.

Right where we need to be. If we get lucky, Oregon will win the Pac 10 and we'll have an easy tiebreaker over them. Also, if we can move into 2nd or 3rd by the time we play OSU, we'll have some leeway even if we lose.

At this point, winning out is an obvious playoff birth and potential #1 ranking. So really, the only question is whether we can get into the playoffs with a loss to OSU. It would have to be close, within 7 points to really work.

1st, just beat OSU. 2nd, if we can't beat OSU, keep it close and dominate the rest of our schedule and we could have a great argument for the Final 4, depending on what happens with the rest of the country. It's not likely, but it's possible to go 11-1 and make the playoffs.

I really don't feel we play any other team with near the amount of talent we have except for OSU.

Dantonio is unbeaten at MSU when MSU is ranked and plays an unranked opponent.

No, but one of the writers was from Ohio, and his explanation was that MSU has the best win of the young college football season.

I was being facetious - I misread the poll and thought we received 2 first place votes in the coaches poll but that was the Trend column...

MSU vs. OSU is shaping up to be a helluva contest. Both teams have work to do and could stumble, a la dipstick Bielema. The Spartans, in particular, must vanquish the hated Wolverines. But if things unfold as most think they will, the showdown in Columbus could be epic. Reminiscent of 2006 OSU vs. Michigan.
