65 Conservative Celebrities

LOL, "Not everyone is a blind follower of democrats."

Yes, instead the 65 who blindly follow GOP policies/jingoistic military crap are real role models.

these are absurd. "Celebrities" includes professional athletes and team owners... a lot of whom are too brain-damaged from hits, or glassy-eyed from all the pills they pop to think correctly (maybe that explains it...)

They have Brad Pitt on there... a notable supporter of gay marriage rights, among other liberal causes.

The list is called "Conservative" but includes self-described Libertarians. Alex Trebek is also not a Conservative.

Tom Brady: "The Super Bowl-winning Quarterback of the New England Patriots is speculated by many analysts to be conservative-leaning."

they have analysts who speculate on whether Tom Brady is conservative-leaning?

Kelsey Grammar: "He told Fox’s Sean Hannity, 'I am a Republican because I believe that…individualism is the most sacred thing, the most sacred treasure.'"

Right... so deny others their right to get married, smoke pot, etc. because they aren't allowed by your own arbitrary moral code.

thanks for the laughs.

So where is the list of liberal multi-millionaires/billionaires?

There a list of republican backers here too: http://www.forbes.com/sites/clareoc...ionaire-donors-and-why-the-kochs-are-missing/ But this doesn't include the really big amounts, just the easily trackable stuff.

- James Simons: $4.1 million

The hedge fund ?quant king? is the biggest billionaire donor to the left, giving $2 million to Obama-backing super PAC Priorities USA Action as well as supporting left-leaning Majority PAC and House Majority PAC.

- Irwin Jacobs : $2.1 million

The retired head of chip manufacturer Qualcomm also cut a $2 million check to Priorities USA Action, the super PAC backing Obama?s reelection.

- Jon Stryker: $2 million

Medical device heir, like Jacobs and Simons, pitched in $2 million to Priorities USA Action. He?s also a longtime donor to LGBT causes.

- Anne Cox Chambers: $1.6 million

The 92-year-old Cox Enterprises TV billionaire backed Obama supporters Priorities USA Action.

- George Soros: $1.275 million

The legendary investor hasn?t supported Obama directly, but he?s contributed to left-leaning groups Majority PAC, House Majority PAC, and American Bridge 21st Century.

- Haim Saban: $1 million

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers mogul has divided his donation between C Priorities USA Action and left-leaning Majority PAC and House Majority PAC.

The following are Obama For America?s top billionaire ?bundlers?, who?ve fundraised from their wealthy networks rather than given directly to any super PAC or other outside group. Obama?s campaign team provides a range rather than actual numbers.

- David Shaw, New York hedge funder: $500k+

- James Crown, of the Henry Crown dynasty of investors: $500k+

- Marc Lasry, New York hedge funder: $500k+

- Marc Benioff, founder of Salesforce.com: $500k+

- Penny Pritzker, business executive and Hyatt hotel heiress: $200k-$500k

I don't know if I'd consider all those guys "liberal" just because they gave to a SuperPAC for Dems or Obama's campaign ... some of the Big Banks gave Obama a lot of money too. Their intent is to get him to keep his DOJ and SEC off their backs, and that's hardly a liberal goal. I'd excluded "self-interested dealing" from the list. People who donate for ideology purposes, that's a different story.

This is all borne from the old assertion that stupid, Hollywood elitists were all Libs.

Then, with the rise of FoxNews, suddenly it became apparent that there were stupid, Hollywood elitists who were 'conservative' too.

Then it was athletes not visiting the White House 'on principle' and Celebs from both parties threatening to 'leave the country' if SoAndSo got elected.

Then in 2008 it was revealed that 8 of 10 Top contributors to Obama we're Top 8 to McCain as well ....that it's Main Street vs Wall Street ...the 1% vs the Populist joe the plumbers of the world.

Frankly, the narrative has changed so many times I'm genuinely surprised most people still seem to swallow the bait.

Hahaha ... I just read the OP list.

They're all 'conservative' either because they bitch about taxes or are from the South (or Mormon).

Hahahaha

i feel the problem is ppl on both sides always want to point the finger at each other and never want to look at themselves to see what THEY could have done better.

I think that one - the haves vs. the have nots - still holds true, even though the labels may change. ignoring the jingoisms and the spin from the Right/business, since the 1970's we've been consistently lowering tax rates on high income earners, income disparity has increased by a lot, people stuck in low wage McJobs jobs have increased, and social mobility has accordingly stagnated. You can miss the forest by focusing on the trees here, but you can't ignore it completely.

wow. a lot of ppl that bitch about republicans I am one FYI

good for you. but I don't see any bitching about Republicans, as much as people pointing out that particular list you posted is silly. a large number of people on that list are shoe-horned in, or "assumed" to be Conservative, based on an off-hand remark or some campaign donations.

i mean ppl blindly follow one side and never seem to criticize that side if they do something wrong. how many dems would come out and actually challange obama on the VA or this prisoner exchange

how many dems would come out and actually challenge obama about Fox News talking points, you meant to say... because the VA has been neglected for a long time, and consistently screwed over from 2001-2008, even as the number of casualties coming back from Iraq increased substantially. I get that a democrat is president now though, so it's politically convenient to get upset about it now.

the prisoner exchange thing... I had to google. I guess I'm too brainwashed by the liberal media to care.

Sammy Hagar, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, members of Styx (not certain who) The Canadian band Rush allegedly has Randian influence in some of their songs, but I was/am not a big fan of their music. I once bought a bag of some very potent pot, indirectly from a friend who knew one of their roadies who was the band's main "supplier" in the late 70s. Maybe they are Libertarian. Of course last but certainly not least, the rabid rightwinger & stinky draft dodger, Ted Nugent.

I wasn't very political in the mid-late 70s, and Gerald Ford/Jimmy Carter were pretty milquetoast POTUSes. That all changed when St. Ronnie was elected. Never understood why some rock bands/singers would be closet conservatives, when their concerts & music was anathema to most in the old-guard GOP. (pre-maritial) Sex, drugs and R&R...Knights In Satan's Service. Dead Babies, I Love The Dead, Cold Gin, Rock Candy, Wango-Tango...ect. When Condi Rice admitted that she was a big fan of KISS, I was genuinely shocked. The same goes for black rappers like 50 Cent and Big Boi from Outcast...they have to know that their "music" is not very popular amongst most older rightwingers, who mainly gravitate to lily-white country-western music.

Yeah, but a better answer than that would be actual work!

This should be the end of 8 out of 10 political threads.

And both the dems and the repubs have had periods where they had sufficient political power to do something about it if they really cared to.

How about the promise to close Guantanamo or the promise to protect net neutrality?

so you blindly follow obama huh? don't have a problem with anything that he does??

just like many of the republicans that sucked on Bush's sack about Iraq
