Akers

Why would they sign a 38 year old kicker who has had major struggles over the last two years?!? This is going to be a huge mistake.

It seems like they tried to find other kickers but they either sucked or lions are being narrow minded and blinded by the "years of experience".

I'd rather they roll with a young guy with a future, but I'm not the one making the big bucks so...

There will be better K's come during the summer. He won't be the K come September..

He wasn't all that bad from under 40 yards. It's those mid-field kicks he can't hit.

Let's hope the Lions offense can give him a short field, and let's hope the scouting staff can find a younger guy in May.

Last year he struggled yes but the year before he set the record for most FGs in a season. Also he hit a 63 yarder last year.

He was less than 50% from beyond 40 yards last year. Any clutch kick he missed. SF dropped it like he was hot. Hanson by contrast was like 85% from beyond 40. Neither of them can kick it out of the end zone which on this team is about as important as making field goals. Akers used to be good, last year he was brutal as fuck.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us take a kicker and/or punter in the very late rounds of this draft or sign one is a UFA.

That's why I said he struggled last year, I was talking about the record because I quoted someone saying he was awful the last two years.

Struggled? The dude struggled more than James Vanderbeek's attempt at a Texan accent in Varsity Blues. David Akers, I don't want your lahf.

This is the best they could do? i'd rather see em use a late round pick and go with a rookie if this is it, Akers blows.

Shouldn't every NFL kicker be automatic from inside 40? That is a chip shot for most.

well if he was kicking the ball off her boobies then it could definitely be said he was kicking from a plastic tit-tee.
