2011 DRAFT PICKS
RD PK(OVR) PLAYER POS SCHOOL
1 13(13) N. Fairley DT Auburn
2 12(44) T. Young WR Boise State
2 25(57) M. Leshoure RB Illinois
5 26(157) D. Hogue - Syracuse
7 6(209) J. Culbreath OT South Carolina State

For how much we praise him i think its time to give him some shit. The draft above was a complete failure this year. It combined for 400 yds receiving, about 9 tackles and 1 sack...whipidie doo. That lack of production along with getting no immediate or long term help along the oline and failing to get drastic help for our inemic secondary (Wright has proven to be the mediocre at best CB we expected) makes me want to ask the all important business question...what have you done for me lately?

You traded up for our most recent bust Jahvid Best. This year you had the worst draft of your career since youve been the man, and did little or nothing to improve the team in FA this year outside of the LB position.

Fairly, you're not giving him a chance? Same with Titus. leShoure isn't Mayhew's fault, just an unkucky injury. What you want from a 5th and 7th?

Seriously man? You cant blame him for injuries. Fairley has looked real good when healthy, and Leshoure will hopefully be 100% next year. As for Young I feel hes been very impressive. Houge looked good on ST last week. And Culbreath will make an impact in the future.

Hes had 2 chances already in 1 year....hurt his foot both times. Hey, facts are facts....that draft has done jack....dont shoot the messenger. If you dont improve the team thru the draft or via FA...then wtf are you doing?

So. Gd forbid. But he has talent, and we've seen it. And who is shooting the massenger . I wasn't aware I had to agree with him.

name callers that dont add any value to threads on a message board are even worse than anti homers. Why do you even waste your time posting this useless garbage...does it give you a boner?

he didn't hurt it twice...its the same injury...none of the first three picks had any injury history...so really can't blame MM

i dont think 9 tackles and 1 sack is "very good" for how much hes played the last 4 weeks.

Fair enough :) But I still think those top two rounds need more time.

agreed...i understand i cant expect the world from a bunch of rookies. And i get the injury argument. But my point was that people were very quick to give him alot of praise when rookies did contribute. As stated, this rookie class hasnt done anything of note so why is it unfair to call it what it is....not a very productive draft. I was less than thrilled at our lack of going after oline and secondary talent...and that has proven to be a thorn in our side all year. If you asked MM on draft day if 30 receptions and 2 TDs was the production he was expecting thru 12 games from a high 2nd round pick....i think he would expect more.

Receivers are funny. Many have a hard time as a rook, others are okay.

Its not like hes getting ample amounts of snaps. I think your setting the bar way to high for the kid, just beacuse of what Suh did last year. Suh had one of the best rookie seasons of any d-lineman ever, but he also played over 80% of the snaps. Give Fairley some time, hes looked good in his minimal snaps this year IMO anyway..

A round of applause for the OP.. This is the worst thread ever created. Helifino's threads are better than this.
