NBA Lottery, thinking the Lakers?
I'm with Bob on this, it was rigged.
What a debacle. Don’t sell me the whole “how’d tanking work for Edmonton” garbage either. Just because a franchise sucks at drafting or developing doesn’t mean it’s worthless to have a better pick. It’s like a Blazers fan saying they wouldn’t want a top 3 pick because they drafted Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. You can’t use individual instances as the end all be all. The majority of the time the higher pick the better across sports, I’d bet my life the results back it up.
I never said it can't be worth it but no guarantee's. The 2nd point about drafting (I agree by the way) bad is why there's no guarantee. Teams select Bowie, or Tony Mandarich, or Darko (Thanks Joe).
Even when you get good players doesn't mean the team will have enough talent to win. Mike Trout, Angels.
I see you are part of the international conspiracy.Chicago, NY, or Philly.
Of course there?s no guarantee. And there?s no guarantee it flips a switch for your franchise success. But I?ll take my chances of that higher pick than finding diamonds in the rough.
Would I rather have a # 2 pick than a # 6 pick? Sure. But you don't need a top pick to succeed. And that's really the whole point. I love Hockey and The Detroit Red Wings, which is why I loved when they had their 6 game winning streak towards the end of the season. The ones that pay those high prices don't want them to lose on purpose. What are they suppose to do?
And btw, picking 6th is not a diamond and the rough. There are some really good young hockey players in this draft.
