And the first pick goes to...

As long it doesn't go to Colorado, playoff team and the top pick. Please no. And Edmonton.

Lol NHL does not even care how they so blatantly rig the draft.

Fuck off Gary.

Devils ...........Moves up 2 spots.
Rangers.........moves up 4 spots.
Blackhawks....moves up 9 fucking spots .

So rigged.

We got so fucked over. Shit is rigged as hell. If we would have lost the second to last game we would have had New Jersey's spot..... FUCKKKKKKKKKK NO HUGHES OR KAKKO. We probably going to get the big D man Byram now though which I'm not to angry about.

I'm with Bob on this, it was rigged.

Hard to argue with it when the New York/New Jersey market will get the top 2 safest picks in the draft. 4 of the top 5 picks will go to the 3 biggest markets in America.

What a debacle. Don’t sell me the whole “how’d tanking work for Edmonton” garbage either. Just because a franchise sucks at drafting or developing doesn’t mean it’s worthless to have a better pick. It’s like a Blazers fan saying they wouldn’t want a top 3 pick because they drafted Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. You can’t use individual instances as the end all be all. The majority of the time the higher pick the better across sports, I’d bet my life the results back it up.

I never said it can't be worth it but no guarantee's. The 2nd point about drafting (I agree by the way) bad is why there's no guarantee. Teams select Bowie, or Tony Mandarich, or Darko (Thanks Joe).

Even when you get good players doesn't mean the team will have enough talent to win. Mike Trout, Angels.

Of course there?s no guarantee. And there?s no guarantee it flips a switch for your franchise success. But I?ll take my chances of that higher pick than finding diamonds in the rough.

I just hate the system. Baseball and football do it best. Worst to first in the draft.

No fucking team should be allowed to move up 4 spots let alone 9 FUCKING SPOTS LIKE THE BLACKHAWKS !!!!

Would I rather have a # 2 pick than a # 6 pick? Sure. But you don't need a top pick to succeed. And that's really the whole point. I love Hockey and The Detroit Red Wings, which is why I loved when they had their 6 game winning streak towards the end of the season. The ones that pay those high prices don't want them to lose on purpose. What are they suppose to do?

And btw, picking 6th is not a diamond and the rough. There are some really good young hockey players in this draft.

I want Byram if there or Cozens

I see Byram on many mocks as going top half of the top ten. I think, imo, Cozens gets drafted before Byram. In the end I'd love a defensive player. So Byram is probably my pick as well. I'd take Byram, trade back into round 1 and draft another D.

The Red Wings could have the worst record and we still would not get the top Pick with our luck. If there is not a sure fire pick at Number six just trade down maybe add some more picks. Just wish Yzerman was in charge of the Wings. I think he wants to come back.
