Anybody else sick of the cliche headlines?

My God... I'm already sick of the stupid cliche headlines about the Fielder signing.

"Fielder's Choice"

"A Princely Sum"

"A King's ransom to sign a Prince"

"A Prince of a deal"

Can't writers/reporters provide a normal headline anymore? Does everything have to be a tired copycat bit now?

Haven't seen any of those. Just stop reading about it and you won't see them.

I want to hear it reported and hear the ins and outs of who was in the mix, I'm just sick of the gimmicky headlines. I get that he's got a unique name, but making into a bit when reporting the news is already getting old for me.

So far it sounds like the Tigers were the only ones in the mix...maybe just bidding against themselves.

I heard 7 years were on the table somewhere. Regardless what you heard about teams going after Prince or not going after, he was getting a big contract. He wasn't signing a 1 year deal.

Agree...there is no way he was going to sign a one year contract.

TinselWolverine[/color]]How about "If the Cliche Headlines don't Cecil Call Prince's Father..."?

Nice, except Fielder pronounced it "sess-ill", not "see-sill".

MLB on XM guys were saying yesterday that they heard Washington was in at around 7yrs. I've also heard Toronto, Baltimore and Texas were in the mix, but not sure to what degree.

My buddy was telling me Philly also. Not sure what they would have done with Howard though...

That's a weird fit considering they've also got Thome this year.

Detroit has a long Dombrowski history of the need to overpay in money and years.
