Really? Very interesting post game comments from Leyland since he got ejected he watched the remainder of the game on TV. noticed that we swing at lot of balls. WOW they don't have someone watching the games on TV to see what we see day in and day out? holy smokes is it that simple? Can we get a coach or assistant to watch the games on TV and report back to Jim each night?? maybe keep Lloyd in the back watching? I can't believe he just now noticed this.

it took the dummy almost a half of a season last year before he found out that none of his 1st 3 batters in the lineup, wasn't even hitting above the Mendoza line.

I wonder if he was trying to be sarcastic since the ump was calling strikes balls yesterday.

It's not just this year is 100% correct, IMO they should now dedicate a resource to watch each game on some sort of TV or online feed and report daily if not hourly what they saw. Pitchers also, Rod was pointing out in the 2nd inning last night that he was rushing, he didn't stop that until the 5th. I had always just assumed someone in the clubhouse was seeing the same things we always see real time, to find out that may not be the case it just bizarre to me.

Just more evidence that the game of baseball is still evolving after all these years and that sometimes doing it the old way is what is going to trip you up.

This could explaine quite a bit. But really how does one notice the amount of strikeout some of the Tigers players have without looking at game films and seeing just how bad of swings they have. Gotta say this is a really drop the ball find here. Really what is a coaches job but to check these things out!

Leyland's an idiot and this further proves it. When does it end?

With some of the swings, Young, Peralta and Raburn took last night.. I don't think he was.

yeah, i posted that before i read KC's link....i don't really have any words. all i can do is shake my head.....and i am not the one paying these guys. i wonder what ilitch thought of those comments

Really thought it would be different tonight. really really did.

"Are you kidding me" ?

nope, the dumbass brought in Valverde for another non-save situation.

Valverde has to get over this thing where he can't pitch in non save situations. The only way he is going to get over it is to keep doing it. You can't have your best relief pitcher "unavailable" in non save situations. There will be times that you need him in that spot.

I thought maybe Leland was trying to get his confidence back, or needed some work... both hilarious by the way.. bottom line he's a closer, simple as that, and not so long ago he was one of the best, and should only be used as one. once he's brought into blow out games, he seems to be not as focused as he would be in a save situation, and that can't be good, can get into some bad habits that way.

Valverde had a horseshoe up his ass last year. He's a mess almost every time he steps on the mound.

Said it before and it bears repeating: in the bigs, whether it be the NFL, MLB, NBA or NHL you stay "loyal" and manage with your heart at your own peril. For example: It took how long for JL to figure out that Dirks was blasting the ball all over the place in ST & in April? All while DY and Boesch were struggling? Then, this morning I read where JL is still enamored with Raburn. For whatever reason, Polanco...ah, not so much. Ergo, HE GONE! You manage and you direct from the front office strictly from what is best W/L and you become disgusted when your stars under-perform. JL & DD are a puzzle in that they appear content with underachievement. I hope I'm wrong.

it took them 2 days and watching replays to figure out they were throwing inge too many meatballs right down the middle of the plate too. what the fuck does leyland do during games, sudoku?
