What team will give the Tiger's the biggest challenge for the division? I think Chicago and Minn are at their weakest going into a season, in a few yrs. That could change btw now and April. I think Cleveland played over their heads for alot of the season and KC will prob be better than 011. But at this point, it looks like it's all there for Det to win the division hands down.

It's never hands down.

And Cleveland had a team full of garbage plus a couple decent guys, and they made it really close for a while.

I would expect the Twins to bounce back somewhat also, they were plagued by injuries last season as bad as any team I have ever seen.

I just always assume the Tigers will battle with the Twins whether its for 1st or 2nd place.

I guess it's never hands down. But, Det has more talent than any team in the division. It's a weak division.

I'm gonna say it will be Chicago, but I could really see it being any of them. It's a crapshoot right now.

2011 Pythagorean W-L

DET 89-73

KCR 78-84

CLE 75-87

CHW 75-87

MIN 62-100

The Twins signed Jamey Carroll and Josh Willingham. If healthy, both immediately help the Twins. A healthy Morneau and Mauer should also help. It really comes down to their starting pitching. I envision a big rebound, but not enough to win the division.

CHW took a step back when they let Buehrle go. But, they should have plenty of pitching to compete. If Dunn rebounds to decent levels, their olding offense might keep them around .500.

CLE really did it with smoke and mirrors last year. Still, I really like Jimenez and believe they got a steal when they got him (even though he did not perform late last year). If CLE's pitching improves, they should compete with DET again next year.

KCR aren't the Royals for nothing. They got CAREER years from quite a few players (i.e. Francouer, Gordon, Cabrera). I am sorry, but they are still a few years away from competing.

Looks about right...i might put the white sox below the Twins. I think they fall apart this year and go into full out rebuild mode.

I think people have been saying this for the last decade.

I'll go with KC or Cleveland.. Both have young talent and are going to only get better..
