Congrats to Alex.

But Miggy getting ripped off is ridiculous. To have better number across the board and not win is outrageous. Do the coaches and players go to Peter Gammons and ask who should win?

Every position in the AL, with the exception of DH, won if you led in RBI. Thanks for the in depth thinking players and coaches.

sometimes i think most of the players and coaches are too dumb for their own good.

Gonzalez (.317) really fell off in the second half compared to Cabrera, who hit .385 in the second half.

they must of thought since Cabrera already won an award, that they should give it to someone else.

Nice find KC. Assuming Beck is correct and the voting occurred a week before the season ended, it is understandable that AGon won over Miggy. However, this format should be changed so that the entire season is accounted for. Perhaps secure online voting by the voters? It's quick and easy, and would allow for late-season heroics, and/or swoons to be taken into consideration. MLB should change things up so this shit doesn't keep happening. For a lot of the fans of teams that don't make the playoffs, the hope that their player might win an award is all they have at this time of year.

Matt Nokes......

The catcher that he replaced, Parrish, batted .257 w/ 22 homers in just 91 games in '86 for the Tigers, but Lance still won the Silver Slugger award for that year anyway, go figure...must've been a shitty season at bat overall for AL catchers?

::)

adrian gonzalez beats Miguel Cabrera for Silver Slugger. What? What?
from DesigNateRobertsonTigersblog

ROGO always says what we are thinking with profane humor.

"ROGO"...wow...it took me awhile to remember just why that name somehow rang a bell somewhere deep in the dusty recesses of my age-addled and drunken battle-axe-tortured mind..haha!!!

Cabrera losing to Gonzo baffles me. Zero respect for this award from here on out.

Cabrera SHOULD win the MVP, but to lose out on the silver slugger is ridiculous! I guess that I need to reassess my predictions. I used to think that you got huge bonus points for your team winning. Now it appears that those bonus points only apply to players from NY and Boston.

Now MLB is turning into little league. Everyone gets a trophy..... if they play for Boston or NY

If my memory serves that was a good year for a catcher.
