speaking of actual scandals ("A plethora of agencies are currently looking into possible misconduct by Bachmann's 2012 presidential campaign, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Election Commission, Office of Congressional Ethics and the Iowa Senate Ethics Committee.") Michelle Bachmann has announced she won't run again.
of course, she claims her timing has nothing to do with the pending investigations, or the fact that she barely won re-election last time, and these will likely torpedo her anyway.
the onion is funny, as usual. I do wonder how much she can expect to bring in, if she goes the Sarah Palin route. I believe Sarah's returns have been diminishing, and Bachmann's profile wasn't as high as hers nationally. And Sarah has pretty much already saturated the market for "Right-wing female airhead" so I don't think Bachmann will really command too much in speaking fees. low-profile Washington lobbyist might be a better option. but even there, I'm not sure how well-liked or respected she is within the Beltway.
