Battle of Winterfell

Yeah I think it's clear that since the show has overtaken the books, that the writers and showrunners have had to rely more on traditional tv writing/plot points and the quality has gone down as a result.

Honestly I don't blame the show as much as I blame the author. His last book in the series came out in 2011 I think? I imagine the showrunners felt that George would have finished the entire book series well before this point in time, and that they'd have plenty more source material to incorporate. As it stands they're sort of making up scenes as they go now.

I couldn't agree more. I see the show writers getting a lot of shit but when you go from source materials, to just getting major plot points, the show will always suffer.

GRRM had already admitted to being a slow writer. Add financial stability and lots of public appearances to the mix and I would be surprised if he ever finishes.

Tyrion's character is the epitome of this effect. Seasons 1-4 he was one of the most compelling characters ever on tv. Now he's basically there to make ball jokes at Varys and screw things up for Dany.

I agree with both of you . Frustrating making Dany go on acting like her dead crazy father is starting to bug me.

What would you expect?

Her dead father was crazy.

And she’s a chick-chicks with sane fathers are inherently crazy.

Look at Circe’s-her father seemed pretty sane, and she’s bat shit crazy as a motherfucker.

Add a crazy father to a chick and it’s a recipe for out-of-control wacko nuts.

Plus she had a Starbucks iced tea after the battle.

Some viewers found it hard to believe, but hey-in a land of flying dragons, just because nobody says anything about a Starbucks, doesn’t mean there’s not one.
