Belgium 2 USA 1 Final ot

Oh man...how did that not go in...what a save by that keeper...

Well it's not like the US didn't have some good chances, if Dempsey scores on that point blank opp the whole game would have changed.

yup..

We had 2 to 3 point blank shots to tie..

Howard 16 saves...New record for goalies... 12 in regulation...

I'm going to have nightmares of Besler falling on his face for weeks.

But it really is the same old problem for the USA...
Lack of possession and lack of goal scoring...

Passing is brutal. Which means we keep passing the ball away then pack in the defense hoping for 1 or 2 shots. But when those shots came....even from the 4 yard line....we cant even get a shot on goal. Thats the part of soccer i will never understand. You play soccer your entire life....your on a world cup team.....and you cant even hit the net from 4 yards away.....embarrassing.

every article I'm reading is making a lot of excuses for Michael Bradley. he seemed timid and useless out there to me most of the game. granted his stellar lob-pass to Green led to our only goal, but he didn't seem to put much effort in to chasing the ball down, contesting any passes, or anything like that for most of the 120 minutes.

the thought occurred to me that he's one of the highest-paid, or maybe THE highest paid player on the team, and he has a lot more to lose from rolling an ankle or tearing something than everyone else on the team. I'm only speculating, but if that's his attitude, Klinsmann needs to find someone else to take that role.
