Berry slams Yankee Fans

It is very true. New York is a shell of itself since they got the new park. The old park had a little life in it but the new one is just a bunch of people who either don't know what baseball is or love to boo more than cheer at games.

I said something to my friends during the game. Even during big moments in the game, the fans were not as loud as a Tiger rally in Oakland.

Check out the ESPN 30 for 30 on George Steinbrenner. Very odd feel. His son, the number cruncher that is top dog now, has no personality and doesn't like being in public.

George, love him or hate him, was a master marketer and would kill to win. He was very good for baseball.

Yankee fans have a right to boo. The team spends all this money and raises prices, but they can't put together a world series team. You have overpaid players like Soriano (12mil), Lowe (15mil), Martin (7.5mil), Jeter (16mil), ARod (30mil), Tex (23mil), Swisher (10mil), Granderson (10mil), and Ichiro (18mil) not performing to the level of the money they are receiving.

It's funny that Ibanez is their best hitter right now and he's 40 and only makes 1.1 million.

You're correct but the problem I see at Yankee stadium is the crown is way too quiet. Last night we're up by only 3 and you couldn't here a bit of noise until ARod single. It was dead.

They had nothing to cheer for. Absence of Jeter hurts, he could at least be in the dugout

Its the playoffs, who will represent AL in the WS. I don't care if Sanchez was throwing a perfect game. 3-0 in the 9th, make some noise and have some rally caps on.

I don't know any stadium that would do that.

Berry is right, Chris Perez should rip the NYY fans for being such dicks, and no-shows.

The way the yankees do it is starting to become less efficient. In the past they've been able to mix homegrown talent with free agents...they've become entirely too dependent on other teams farm systems and are taking on contracts at the wrong times. Teams have adjusted their approach to their home grown talent (like a joey votto for example) and are signing them to longterm deals while they are still under team control. You didn't see that as much ten years ago imo. The yankees have some real decisions to make about their direction going forward.

They've tried to make this a fiscal issue in NY but it's ridiculous imo...the NY metro area has 22 million people. I can see some of the 2k seats not selling but there are cheaper seats available in NY than Detroit.

They have a right to sit there in stone cold silence as well in a 1-0 ballgame after they get someone on base and it still makes them a bunch of spoiled rotten twits. LOL.. I see Yankee fans say things like "it's tough to be Yankee fan"

Is it now.. really? oh I feel so sorry for the poor Yankee fans.
