Bobby Veach

Gosh the guy has some great numbers and sounded like an awesome player, but because he didnt play long enough to get the 3000 hits or the other big numbers the HOF voters look for he didnt get in. its sad i think he deserves in the HOF.

I think if someone dominates the MLB for so many years that player should get in the hall of fame. Idk say 6-7 years. I know were trying to keep the 1-2 year wonders out of the hof.

Instead of having to be a guy who begins playing at the age of 19-22. We penalize the players who start playing great after they turn 25, who has no chance at the 500 hr 3000 hits.

Another good story on our Tigers from the Examiner, thanks Ty.

What we wouldn't give for a LF like Bobby Veach on our current Tigers team... Excellent all around hitter and fielder.

I remember the old timer on one of the routes I delivered mail to back in the early 70's as a PTF in the PO. Parkie R. was in his mid 80's back then, and I would run a route and go sit with him and talk old time baseball.
I always asked him about the Tigers from Cobb's era and the 1930's teams. He used to see every AL team play the redsox at fenway since he was a kid. He called Bobby Veach a poor man's Al Simmons, great all around Left fielder just not as accomplished.

I'd take a poor man's Al Simmons in LF!
