Get StartedBoesch looked clueless tonight. When do we send him down or trade for at least an average outfielder. I have been patient but he can't field or hit!!
he's not relaxed, playing too tense, not aggressive with the swing, I recall an article few weeks back saying something about how he never smiles, some of the guys try with no luck to get him to loosen up etc.. not sure how you fix that but he's still young too early to give up on him.
I don't see him smile either. Should make Bob happy ;-)
in 2 years of watching him nothing has changed at the plate... what use to work last year doesn't work anymore cause the pitchers have all adjusted to him, now it's his turn to adjust but he won't.. the same long ass swing trying to kill the ball. If I was Leyland I'd sent him to Toledo as soon as Dirks was ready. just my .02
Boesch sucks, thats really all there is to it. He had a couple of hot streaks in the beginning of the last 2 years (and a couple very short ones this year) but has completely sucked at all other times. The longer he sucks, the clearer it becomes that his hot streaks were flukes. He is basically a left-handed Delmon Young.

Wrong. He had one pretty good month (april), one great month (june), one absolutely awful month (may), and one bad month (july) before he got injured right at the beginning of august/very end of july. He was really streaky and had already cooled off by the time he got injured. Given how awful he has been this year, how awful he was the entire 2nd half of 2010 and the fact that he was already tailing off before his injury last year, and his inexcusably awful defense, i feel confident in saying that he sucks.Last year he was good most of the year before his injury. If you're going to flat out lie, you might have better luck on a non-Tigers board.

Total he's had 4 good/great months to 8 awful months plus his 2 months of injury at the end of last year. id say the fact that he's had twice as many awful months as good ones in 2.5 years is decent evidence to go along with his career numbers: .261/.318/.418/.735, .321 wOBA, 98 wRC+, and a career WAR of 1.0 to go with ****ing pathetic defense.
Seriously, he's a left-handed Delmon Young. Their career numbers are almost exactly the same.
If we're going to have an outfielder thats not hitting, it should at least be one that can field the position (Raburn) rather than one that cant (Boesch).
this is, of course, dependent on raburn heating up at least a little (which he has shown some signs of since coming back). but his defense is unquestionably quite a bit better. boesch doesnt make that catch the other night. raburn makes a few gaffes every now and then, but he is definitely above average in the outfield, especially in left field. Is the difference of minus 160 OPS make up for a tad of defense?
