Boesch clueless

I've been hearing a lot of ifs on Raburn lately.

Btw, did you see the catch he made last night it looked good.

Raburn has less "ifs" than Boesch does because he has a longer track record of heating up for the 2nd half (which, granted, might not happen this year. anything is possible) and because there are really no question marks on his OF defense.

Of course you must forget the ones where Raburn mis-jumps by 6 feet as the ball caroms off the wall.

Of course I havent forgotten, but those plays are few and far between for him in the OF. And then I remember plays he makes like the one the other night in Pittsburgh.

I remember the 3 errors he committed at 3rd base on August 16th 2009.. As long as Jim plays RR in the outfield I can live with that i guess.. He does field better then either Young or BB.. I sure hope he finds that second half magic soon.. His overall OBP dropped from .359 in 2009 to .340 in 2010 to .298 in 2011. There is concern there...
The texas ballpark is a good place to try and get RR going. To bad Darvish and Oswalt are RHP coming up... But still who knows what Jim will do?

When has Raburn his .160 in late June? When he heats up late his early numbers are at least somewhat reasonable. My point is that Raburn is so bad this season his heating up might be .230 not .320.

And Spock, those plays aren't few and far between. He might be better than BB out their but he is no where near average.

the numbers say he is above average. 5.5 UZR/150 and a 4 total zone over 1700+ innings in LF. he's not as good (in a much, much smaller sample size) in RF, but since Dirks is good at either spot we can play Raburn in left.

and anyways, if heating up DOES end up being only up to .230 or something...thats what boesch is hitting. so again, it comes down to the defense which raburn wins hands down.

If that's the play I'm thinking of, it was preceded by two great catches. Boesch wouldn't have caught any of the three.

Who cares what his final average is? Are you worried about what will be on the back of his baseball card? If he raises his average from .160 to .230 that would mean he hit near .300 the rest of the way. What was your point again?

Nope, it wasn't.

Ever thought that Raburn makes it look harder than it was, like the one 2 day ago.

That's not what I said. Where did I say he'll have an average of .230. I said he might hit .230 the rest of the way. At least thats what I meant. And of course no power to go with it.

in 2 years of watching him nothing has changed at the plate... what use to work last year doesn't work anymore cause the pitchers have all adjusted to him, now it's his turn to adjust but he won't.. the same long ass swing trying to kill the ball. If I was Leyland I'd sent him to Toledo as soon as Dirks was ready. just my .02

This is completely wrong. Except that I would send him to Toledo now, or Erie even.

Boesch this year is nothing like Boesch in the past, he was never that terrible of defense, he never expanded the strike zone to hack at ball down and away like that.

His swing looks bad this year because he is flailing after pitches hoping to make contact, instead on knowing when he's on a ball and driving it like we were used to.

Honestly, I think he's not seeing the ball, I would bet it's a problem with his vision, not much else can explain his troubles at both the plate and the OF being as bad as they have been. How many times have we seen him run in on a ball then turn around to back up?

Boesch has value (and always will as a left power bat), but not to the Tigers atm, because he's basically giving away at bats, he needs to go down and get thoroughly examined and then have his hitting re-worked in a non pressure situation.

Maybe he can help us in 2013, because right now he's killing us.

Delmon Young is a different story, what you see from Delmon is what you get, and it's not great, good, or even average. Put him on waivers and see who bites, try and get a couple low-enders for him, and get him the hell out of Detroit.

Boesch has been the worst everyday player in MLB this year, it's not hard to find somebody better than the absolute worst.

all I know is, I'd love to see Dirks in left or right, along with Berry in left or right and Jackson in the middle, even thou they all won't be hitting .300 all season... just the fact at what speed we will have in the outfield along with in the order.

Who? Eldred, Matt Young? It sucks but we have no one so unless DD makes a trade. It is what it is.

Face it, Dirks ain't coming back for a long while.

You are so good at playing dumb it should scare you.

DD could make a trade for a AAAA OFer and give up nothing of value, and they'd be better options than those two.
