shocking that we're that high, I think we have a decent chance to make the playoff if we continue to win games but I'd put us behind all of those teams other than ND. I don't think we'd stand much of a chance against Bama.

I imagine Auburn and Bama's payouts aren't lower than they are because they have to play each other and Auburn has to play both Miss teams while Bama still has Miss St. There are combinations of outcomes between those 4 teams that could keep all four of them out of the playoffs. Other than OSU, the only team left on our schedule that can beat us is ourselves.

having an easier path to the playoff is a big part of this but it's still shocking to see us that high

I think our defense is championship caliber. I think the passing game is championship caliber. The running game I'm not so sure, but I don't see a team in the country that would be able to run on us well either.

yeah, I thinks it's also a function of the fact that in addition to the guantlet those SEC teams have to run, there appears to be more parity this year - there doesn't seem to be one dominant program like there has been recently.

to win it you first have to be in it, we're sure that there will be a SEC team but it could be one of 5 or 6 so that makes the individual odds to win it long. if they looked at what conference would win, we'd be one of the last ones behind the ACC, Pac 12, SEC, Big 12 maybe.

as an impartial observer who doesn't care about college football this season, I have to say, FSU seems primed to implode at some point.

Best case for Michigan state is for Notre dame to beat Fsu and then Notre Dame lose last week of the season against USC.

I also think FSU is vulnerable - they have looked shaky against everyone except Wake Forest but other than ND they do have a fairly weak schedule going forward. ND may be better than anyone Baylor faces but on average, it looks like BU faces a tougher schedule than FSU the rest of the way. As for ND, I'm kinda sick of hearing the b.s. about how tough their schedule is. Either these SOS ratings are a joke or the difference between 9th (or whatever they are) and 55 (or whatever we are) isn't all that big because I don't think FSU and Stanford are much tougher than Oregon and OSU - the rest of both teams' schedules are equally soft.

We would have a chance (against bama), this years team isnt as dominating as previous years, I wouldnt be surprised to see them drop 3 games this year.
