i would love to have Buehrle but he has to wear down at some point. Four years is a lot for a guy who has already logged over 2400 innings.

Dude a closer and a #3 starter are not going to put them over the top. The team still isn't very good and will get worse if they trade Hanley. They still have omar infante getting a lot of playing time along with no real options at CF and C to go along with under performing rotation

$14.5 million per year would also scare me.

I hope that they play well for Florida. I think it's more fun when there are more teams competing each year.

Have you forgotten Reyes? And I doubt they're finished.

As usually I will be the voice of reason :) but outside his one year, I believe 2009, averaging 150 games a year since '05.

They are out of the Pujols sweepstakes, so they have some more cash to spend on another pitcher if they choose.

Pujols Sweepstakes? It is more like giving away a lotto ticket than winning one. 10 years at $225- $230 million. What a waste of money! They will be glad that they didn't sign him....and the team that does will regret it in about 4 years.

I figured Ozzie would go after Mark... He has always love him on the Sox staff.

Exactly do you really think he will have another 10 $20 mil seasons in him? no

Miami also had offers out to C.J. Wilson, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

ESPN's Karl Ravech reports that Wilson is set to fly to Dallas for an announcement in the next 48 hours, signaling that the finish line is close.

It may come down to whether the Angels match the Marlins with a six-year offer. If they don't, Wilson would have to decide if he wants to take fewer years to go west. Wilson is from California.

Hanley Ramirez's representative talked to the Marlins on Wednesday and asked for a restructured deal after the shortstop was asked to move to third base with the signing of Jose Reyes. The Marlins, upset with this, now are looking to trade Ramirez, the sources said.

If the Marlins can clear the payroll, they will pursue Milwaukee Brewers free-agent first baseman Prince Fielder.

i dunno if they think they can get him for much less, i just think hes on their radar now that pujols isnt.

With 57m after last season they still probably have less of payroll than Detroit. But they get no one going to games.
