will be a huge mistake if they don't get something in return for Price, Ceps and others now, worst of both worlds tigers do nothing continue to flounder in the wind and the franchise suffers a return trip to the basement for years to come. uggggg

Get StartedDD going to leave the franchise in shambles, rumors are Toronto and CA are interested in his services if he doesn't come back here. My guess is he is not renewed and either retires or ends up in Toronto or California and he should at least not leave the franchise in complete shambles IMO but whatever, hey make sure you take Brad with you DD
If DD buys or stands pat at the deadline he is dooming this franchise for several years. To lose Price, Cespedas, Davis, Soria, and Avila this off with nothing in return will really put us in a hole. At least get some prospects to rebuild the farm system.
If Price is traded, maybe the Tigers are scared fans will stop showing up to the games this year.
Or
DD is gonna go out with his guys and not set up a good situation for the next GM that comes in.
Let's be clear on a couple of things:
1. Cepedes cannot be given a qualifying offer. If the Tigers do not resign him before 5 days after the World Series, they cannot talk to him until May 15th. So really, you either trade him in the next 3 days or you sign him to an extension. Anything other than this is stupid. Some would argue trading him is stupid. While others will cite resigning him is stupid.
2. Price can be given a Qualifying Offer, but only by the Tigers. If he is traded, the new team is in the same boat as what the Tigers are with Cespedes. If a team trades for him, they already have a contract extension with him, or they truly only want him for 1/3 of year, in which case his trade value isn't what some of you think.
3. These rules will also effect Davis, Avila, etc, etc. Or, it will effect any pending Free Agents DET gets if in fact they are buyers.
The problem I see is DD/Tigers' haven't even said anyone is available. Need time to work on trades..they need to make him available like yesterday.

Deals can happen in a flash. That Cueto deal seemed to get done without any knowledge being leaked. My hope is that DD is just being quiet about his talks.
Fister trade ring a bell? We got a sack of marbles in that deal. Let's hope he's open about guys being available so they get some options to choose from rather than taking the first polished turd offered up.
I suspect teams would want Price to try and win a WS. Like SF.
I doubt that SF is in the mix. The young players they'd have to give up are too valuable to them. IMO.
