Did they ban trades and signing free agents?
That's why we're in this boat..signing FA's or trading for vets. We have nothing in the minors, not one person to get excited about. At this rate we become the 1990's Tigers'.

We've been presented with a good opportunity to retool quickly and be back in a year. Price, cespedes, and Soria could net us 7 or more prospects or young major leaguers, I'd bet 5 of them would be top 10 in the tigers system. Most likely we get swept and we still don't sell. All I keep hearing from DD and BA is how close we are to a WC game.

I've been hearing the same shit from many here for years, yet we keep finding players in our system that teams want to trade for.

Oh sage of sage, please enlighten us with your wisdom. Who are you trading for and who are you using in the trade? And what Free Agents are you signing?
When was the last time our minor league system was ranked higher than 20th? Yet we just had a 4 year playoff run. Weird
I keep seeing people post about DD being in the last year of his deal and it's a foregone conclusion that he won't be back because he hasn't signed an extension.
I'd like to point out that the same exact thing has happened every other time his contract was up(2006 & 2011). Both times he signed in the off season without even looking anywhere else.
Not foregone conclusion. But I bet those other years there weren't rumors that he was headed elsewhere..higher position within' MLB.
Oh, like the rumors of him being the next commissioner. Yeah, he was never even a finalist for that.

You are real good at deflecting questions with your own questions. The point is most of the rest of us actually post our opinions on how to make the Tigers better. You just attack those opinions and make fun of them.
Stan lives paycheck to paycheck. Stan lives in a $1 Mil house and he really cannot afford the mortgage he has and has to dig into his savings every year. All the while, his house is deteriorating at alarming rates. Despite even that, his house value is going up. Finally, the house is almost at an unlivable state. He has to have his house foreclosed on because he cannot make the mortgage and pay for the repairs.
"Gotime: There was no reason for him to sell, he could pay his mortgage for years without issue!"
Well Stan bought that "house" for 82 million and it's currently valued at 1.12 BILLION. Stan's gonna be alright.

If you can get 6 or 7 decent ML prospects by trading now you can use most of them to acquire ML players in the future. If you let these guys go you get nothing in return. The idea of re-stocking the farm isn't just to get guys that will contribute down the road...it is to get assets that you can turn into ML players.
