Good news and should mean a real commitment to playing into his 30's at less weight.

Hope he keeps his power numbers up and all his other goodness. Sometimes players worry so much about defense it effects the offense. Hopefully Miguel is fine on all fronts.

I still expect 30 HR's, 100 RBI's and a mean .300+ BA. Its all gravy.

Be a sweet year for him, he should pass the 300 career HR mark, and his 1000th RBI.

Power numbers shouldn't be affected at all. He's too good with his bat. He doesn't rely (soley) on muscle (or fat) to hit HRs. I'm guessing he'll be about 235-240, in which case, he's still not a skinny guy.

I hope this is right, I'd be happy to see him come in under 250. If he can play at 240-245 he should be fine at 3rd.

I like Man-beasts attitude, he doesn't care where he plays, or what he hits, all he has to do is show-up and the numbers will always be there.it's his having fun playing the game.

That smile on Maggs, looks like he's having fun. I'm going to miss that dude.
Same here. It's a shame that injuries and age have caught up to him. He can still hit when healthy, but he's become Carlos Guillen 2.0. He has a .312/.476/.849 line in his seven years as a Tiger.

Honestly, and feel free to bash me over this, but I had been hoping the Tigers would toss a little money at Maggs to be our DH for 1 year, that way he can retire a Tiger.

Yeah we can just show Prince the door

What does that have to do with anything?

Pretty sure the plan is to have Prince play first... It would be nice to see Maggs retire in Detroit.

If there is any chance that Maggs and his agent Boras would accept a one year contract that would include incentives based on number of games played as well as his ability to play acceptable defense in RF, then I also would like to see Ordonez don the olde English D for a final season. It is probably unlikely that he will receive many if any offers from NL teams, but if he does get signed by another club, I would prefer that he plays in the "senior circuit". I would especially hate Ordonez signing with and then batting as a DH for any of the Tigers' divisional rivals.
