Cabrera hit by chopper and taken for stitches...

Whatever, smart ass.

I didn't check your notes thread before posting, but I did check for other posts on this and didn't see any. I figured this might be a worthwhile post on its own rather than mucking up the notes thread with discussion.

Watching the video, he didn't have good body position. It was smoked, but he wasn't squared up on it and paid the price when it took a bad hop off his face. Glad it got him in the cheek rather than the eye or teeth. Coulda been much worse.

Video was pulled due to copyright. How bad is it? Hopefully he'll be good to go for opening day...

I'm feeling snarky after all this shit,
yeah I did do both the Tigers notes and in the game thread. The ball took a higher than expected bounce up by 2/3 feet. This could have been alot worse...I expect they are running every kind of test x-rays, MRI, eye exam, maybe to conclude nothing they missed.
Sort of expect Cabrera to miss a few games during the week, sit on the bench wearing new pair of sunglasses, and tell everyone he is ok.

Didn't look terrible, although he was bleeding pretty good right away. I'm guessing it was just a couple stitches to close up the cut. Luckily it was on the cheek, so it should bother him too much other than being a bit sore and swollen.

Miggy still looks tentative playing 3b. He seems to ole the ball a bit instead of squaring up on it and using his arm strength to get the ball over to first. I'm sure he'll be fine, but he doesn't look 100% comfortable at 3b just yet.

If he doesn't turn his head he breaks his nose or eye socket in my opinion... It was to high to take off the chest because it was going to fast.. Like they said on tv any third sacker would have been hit..

That's a nice little wound. Looks like a boxer's cut. Fortunately it is below the eye and it shouldn't bother him too much. Even if it swells a bit, it shouldn't hurt his vision too much since it's his back eye and he'd be looking across his nose when batting. Probably gonna be out a couple ST games, and maybe DH a game or two after that depending on how much it swells up.
