Calvin in the finals for Madden cover

Everyone vote against him, I don't want our progress to be blown because of this. CJ on the cover, Lions go back to being the same 'ol Lions.

Or, Lions on the cover and we continue to get better. The curse is a myth. I would rather see CJ on the cover when I play the game than Cam, end of story.

CJ was at ESPN all day on Tue....someone should have asked him how his broken leg is doing.

"what broken leg"

"the one youre gonna get from the madden curse"

...book it.

When you consider that the curse really started with Barry Sanders retiring (Garrison Hearst on the PAL version barely counts) then it all began with a Lion. Maybe another great Lion can put an end to it.

It's pretty much the same logic I used when I really wanted the Lions to draft Stafford. He broke Bobby Layne's record in high school, I figured he could be the guy to break the curse too.

However, if Calvin does get badly injured and that huge contract becomes an anchor... I will hate every one of you that voted for him. I am still voting for Cam Newton.

the curse may be a myth but the cover athletes have terrible records. Major injuries, ineffective play, team issues, a suicide attempt, etc.

Not all of the cover guys have had bad years or their team for that matter, but it's a high percentage.

I would love to see CJ on the cover, but damn, i don't want to risk it.

Let's keep things in perspective a little bit here. Calvin has missed a game to injury 3 of the 5 years he's played, and has often played hurt. If he does get injured it will not be because of a curse, it will be because he gets the ball so much and that leads to getting hit.

Further, the guys who have suddenly gotten worse or hurt after being on the cover were almost always guys who had notable injury histories (and had a great year of health the year before) or a flukey good season right before. Calvin has consistently been one of the best WRs in football since he entered the league, and has shown he can play hurt. There is no curse, but there is a downside to not voting - lack of media attention which directly affects the team's bottom line.

Unless Calvin is on the cover I won't be buying Madden. The franchise is crap..We need competition.
