CBS Sports ranks MSU #2 in NCAA for major sports

No. Why? We are not unreasonable people; we know you had good seasons in basketball and football. It won't last though so enjoy it while it does, weenis

Oh, this is just for last year?

Yeah, Sparty had good years in basketball and football.

I didn't migrate to CBS from ESPN; I migrated here.

Does CBS even have boards like ESPN?

Does ESPN even still have boards?

I don't know if they have boards but a lot of folks on the Wolverine page have said they migrated from ESPN to CBS for better sports content because ESPN sucks so I thought I'd have a little fun with it.

I think you have to pay the ESPN insider fee to access message boards there now. At least that's how it looks it was set up I just checked.

Yeah, I think you're right but I think people's complaints are more about sports coverage on the network and the site and I tend to agree that it sucks. You also have to be an insider to access certain articles and other content. I still go there for live scores but that's about all I ever get from it.

right, it's not like we're a good program, we just keep having good seasons year in and year out

If it's a solid poll based on actual criteria, only complete knobs like Sbee would form an opinion over an entire network, based on one small poll.

But what about Sparty hockey?? It fucking sucks these days.

Im happy with the current state of our athletic programs, who would't be?
All the whiny michigan fans who chime in on threads like these. They're highly insecure since their football program is in the shitter

Yeah, the state of the hockey program is shameful. Mason really screwed up when he hired Comley instead of Miller. Comley won a Hoosiers-like National Championship (Hoosiers-like in terms of the odds, not coaching) but on the whole he hurt the program. And Anastos has just been awful.

Only five other College Hockey coaches have won 700+ games. As for the title, well, MSU is not the first lower seed to win one. Union College just did it this season. Minn-Duluth three years ago, unfortunately for Michigan. The Anastos hire is remains puzzling, to say the least.

Comley had an impressive career, no doubt but he was in the twilight of his career when Mason brought him on - it was like he was just skating (pun intended) into retirement and it showed both before and after the championship. I'm not discounting the title itself - it was huge but I give more credit to Jeff Lerg and the core of skaters (Kennedy, Abdelkader, Brian Lerg, etc) for the title than Comley. On the whole, Comley set the program back - particularly after the team pulled off that big win - it's as if he didn't even try to recruit or coach after that.
