Chase Farris could be an absolute steal

UDFA Farris is drawing Jason Peters comparisons in terms of raw talent. This writer thinks he has the potential to eventually be a top 5 talent at guard. If Quinn just built the frame of a future top 10 offensive line in 1 draft, I am thoroughly impressed. Think about it, there might be no reason to give Reiff or Warford a big payday, just let 'em walk.

Yep if all these "steals" and high talent guys play up to the best projection we can find for them, then it will be a great draft.

History across the league has showed up it is very unlikely.

Have some faith. Every player drafted by the Lions this year will be in the pro bowl this year....duh

At the very least, the article is a good read. Hopefully some luck falls the Lions way and we get an undrafted stud and Quinn is some sort of talent finding savant.

if dahl develops....fine.

but killebrew is deone buchannon and chase farris is Jason peters. LOL....youre setting yourself up to be very disappointed.

Manage your expectations....lets start here:

killebrew is just a big safety that has promise to get in and cover some TEs in nickel situations. Positive being that Quin wants to play nickel a majority of the time.

Chase Farris will make the team.

There...good start.

Isn't that what you guys do every year though?? You set yourselves up for disappointment all the time lol

And Killebrew is an in the box Safety who kills people. His game is playing the run. He needs to work on his pass coverage. Compared to Buchanon from the Cardinals....whatever. He looks like a better, younger version that Ihedigbo to me and should immediately compete at least to start.

Why do you always incorporate 'we' when speaking to 'hughes?

Because I don't feel like pointing out every single individual person i'm referring to. They know who they are. You one of them? Sometimes...

I had the team winning 10 games last year minimum. They are the ones that decided to suck the entire first half of the year.

Wouldn't those comparing Dahl to Joe Thomas, Farris to Jason Peters, and Killebrew to Deion Buchannon, more likely than the alternative be the individuals who are "setting themselves up for disappointment?"

If anyone thinks that, YES. Prime example is Ebron. Lombardi mentions the name Jimmy Graham and he was doomed from the start lol. He never had a chance....

100% Tony I like the enthusiasm, but just lets let the guys play a few snaps first. Killebrew looks like he has the best opportunity right away, he just has to show more promise than the vets. If I was handicapping the race I'd say Bush starts but Killebrew gets some snaps in sub packages.

Miles Killebrew - DB - Lions
Fourth-round pick Miles Killebrew will have a chance to open the year as the Lions' starting strong safety.
Glover Quin is entrenched at free safety, but strong safety is up for grabs with Killebrew, Tavon Wilson and Rafael Bush all competing for snaps. GM Bob Quinn expects the Lions to play sub-packages about 70 percent of the time and Killebrew has the size and speed necessary to excel on passing downs. "Hopefully he can have a role covering tight ends," said Quinn. A physical player known for dishing out punishing hits, Killebrew was awarded first-team All-Big Sky honors in his senior season at Southern Utah.

Hey, I just like his potential. He plays like a LB out there. I'm not annointing him the next Ronnie Lott tho lol. Our Safeties are weak and that's a good thing for Killshot. I think he has a great chance to run away with the starting gig but Caldwell loves to tighten that leash on rookies for some reason. Might not have a choice but to let go on this one tho....

I just love the fact that Quinn is looking at every linemen possible. It is just refreshing. I hope they all hit but even if none of them do it is still a step in the right direction.

IF these undrafted guys could live up to the "potential"... we should never draft a player again under Quinn. Just trade every pick for proven high quality vets and let him go sign undrafted ProBowlers til the cows come home.

But it's not very likely.
